Associate, Application Support Analyst (Fixed Income and Currencies)


GBIS is the Corporate and Investment Banking arm of the Société Générale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia. GBIS provides corporate, financial institutions, investors and public sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.

The candidate will join the group of feature teams responsible for the build-out and support of Fixed Income global solutions. He / she will focus primarily on the FIC vanilla chain, where the group has significant business development ambitions in Asia.

His / her main objective will be to provide functional support to users of the FX, Fixed Income and credit activities' information systems. A strong emphasis will be put on building a close relationship with the team stakeholders (Sales, Traders, Middle office & Profit & Loss teams), to support their day to day needs and grasp how technology can help grow the franchise.


The Role

You will be part of a Scrum / Devops team within our technology department. The team delivers value for the business every 2 weeks or faster, while maintaining continuous improvement on quality. You will be very motivated by customer satisfaction and building / supporting quality software.

We are looking for people who enjoy what they do and enjoy collaboration with teammates and business users. The successful incumbent will be someone who understands the importance of and has a strong appreciation for effective / efficient communication with stakeholders. We are NOT looking for someone who knows about agile software development, but "is Agile" and knows what we mean with this.

You are confident enough that you don't have to prove to anyone you are experienced support analyst. At the same time, humble enough to never stop learning as you will work with various profiles.

You don't have to be "the best", but you have to do your job as best as you can. Société Générale will provide the means for you to grow.

The Role:

  • Actively contribute to the support of our FIC platforms
  • Foster proximity and continuous interactions with the trading & sales desks and the teams supporting them
  • Help the team build quality software, tailored to users' needs
  • Anticipate and identify risks and opportunities in our day to day activities, thus take initiatives to reduce risks and improve efficiency
  • Participate to the software development workflow



  • Strong technical background (databases, Unix, middleware)
  • Strong written and verbal communication, ability to communicate / collaborate with the business effectively across all levels
  • Ability to find effective solutions to challenging, time-critical problems
  • Functional knowledge in Fixed Income or FX products is not mandatory but will be advantageous
