GIC Corporate Services
The GIC Corporate Services team provides cooperative, collaborative and comprehensive support to our investment professionals. Multi-faceted teams deliver the core capabilities in trading and investment operations, risk control, human resources, communication and asset management.
The Technology Department manages and exploits information technologies to enhance GIC’s ability to be the leading global long term investment firm. It aims to provide users with empowering and transformational capabilities, and to create an inclusive, innovative and integrated work environment.
The Network Administrator is responsible for the installation, administration, monitoring, and management of GIC’s network infrastructure which covers both domestic (Singapore) networks as well as overseas (International) networks.
•Evaluate new networking solutions and services both in private/public cloud environments as well as Wide Area Networks and recommend / implement changes to improve networking operations and support for our business applications.
•Design and implement new network infrastructure/technology as required by the company.
•Work with Application Development group to provide technical support, advice and to implement network solutions that is effective in meeting the needs of business applications at an economical cost.
•Install, administer, maintain GIC’s network infrastructure including routers, switches, security firewalls, load balancers and proxy servers, in compliance with IT Security standards, policies and procedures.
•Monitor, plan and upgrade network for capacity to meet future growth.
•Assist to troubleshoot application performance/network related issues.
•Follow up with vendors, telecommunications service providers (telcos) and external parties to resolve any network problems that may arise 24x7.
•Participate in disaster recovery tests.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
•3 to 6 years’ experience in computer network communications with exposure to a wide variety of communications equipment, protocols, transmission media, both in local area network and wide area network as well as working knowledge of popular operating systems such as Windows Server Systems and Unix Operating Systems.
•Experienced and able to work with communication facilities, services, equipment and software such as LAN/WAN hubs and switches, wifi and associated technologies, routers and bridges, network interface cards, network protocol analysers.
•Ability to plan, organise and write good documentation and reports of all elements of a project.
•Experience with Automation and Scripting (in Python or Powershell)
•Pleasant personality, with ability to deal closely and effectively with both end-users and vendors.
