Application Support Engineers – Front Office Trading | Multiple Roles | Sydney, Australia

We’re currently hiring across multiple Application Support and Production Operations Engineering positions with leading quantitative trading firms in Sydney.

These opportunities sit close to the trading floor, supporting critical trading applications and working directly with traders, developers and infrastructure teams.

The Opportunities

The roles vary between teams but generally involve:

1. Supporting front-office trading applications and systems
2. Working directly with traders to troubleshoot production issues
3. Monitoring trading systems and responding to incidents
4. Troubleshooting across Linux, networking, applications and databases
5. Using Python and scripting to automate repetitive processes
6. Investigating trading, connectivity and system performance issues
7. Working with development teams on permanent fixes and improvements

What We’re Looking For

Across the opportunities, we’re interested in engineers with experience across:

1. Application Support, Production Support or Production Engineering
2. Linux systems and troubleshooting
3. Python and/or Bash scripting
4. SQL and databases
5. Networking fundamentals
6. Monitoring and incident response
7. Supporting business-critical production systems
8. Working directly with technical and non-technical users

Prior trading experience is valuable but not essential across every opportunity. Engineers coming from highly available, technically complex production environments are also encouraged to apply.
