Your role & work environment
As a Regulatory affairs expert, you will implement European Directives/Belgian legislation, mainly in the area of Know Your Customer compliance standards (eg. Financial Economic Crime), fiscal transparency and reporting (eg banksecrecy, FATCA, Qualified Intermediary, Common Reporting Standard.... ), customer protection (eg. Deposit Guarantee, MIFID, EMIR) and data privacy legislation (eg. General Data Protection Regulation). By nature, these legislations impact all areas and customers of the bank, they are subject to external reporting and high regulatory attention by means of sign offs or audits.
You work in a challenging and international environment with cross border contacts, bankwide stakeholders and you discuss with all levels of the organization. Your area of responsibility is ING Belgium.

Your key responsibilities

  • Advise and support the organization with the implementation and maintenance of complex regulations and translation of policies into easy processes and procedures
  • Give advice and form a professional judgment over complex cases
  • Improve skills and knowledge of employees by developing and organizing communication and training
  • Execute complex operational tasks related to regulations and all customer and product related tax legislations
  • Issue documentation on ING Belgium to other financial institutions for identification and withholding purposes (W-8BEN-E....)
  • Analyse and report discrepancies to the concerned stakeholders and Group
  • Ensure correct reporting on ING Belgium towards regulatory bodies and tax authorities
  • Help prepare contacts with, or represent the organization towards external regulatory bodies (ECB, FSMA, NBB, FOD/SPF, .....) &/or internal stakeholder
  • Own sign off processes related to regulations and coordinate cross the bank
  • Support business implementing the controls into their daily processes and procedures
  • Measure and monitor the related risks and assess against the risk appetite and tolerance
  • Work closely together with Safe Business Officers

  • Excellent knowledge of English and Dutch or French
