Software Developer - SDET
The Software Developer - SDET is an individual capable of building test automation solutions and using software development skills. They work closely with project analysts and Analyst Developers to help build automated test solutions for our projects. SDETs understand that the success of a highly agile project hinges on the quality and reliability of test automation whether that is unit, integration, API or e2e UI testing.

Role Responsibilities:


  • Review complex test packs across multiple projects to identify similar scenarios;

  • Review and guide test approach with projects to encourage automation friendly test approach..


  • Build complex automation scenarios in the FNZ custom framework;

  • Extend framework to support further technologies and different test vectors;

  • Build reporting and diagnosis methods in the automation solution;

  • Ensure code is designed and built in a reusable manner.

Design / Quality:

  • Provide solutions and recommendationsfor the resolution of technical issues that arise and ensure solutions meet the technicalspecs and design requirements;

  • Adhere to the defined procedures for code management, code reviews, coding standards, naming conventions and security standards.

Collaboration / Communication:

  • Promote the development team both internally and externally. Ensure that creative solutions, tight code, tough problems solved are called out appropriately to the developer community, and where they lead to visible outcomes, to the broader FNZ teams and clients; and

  • Collaborate with other developers and SDETs to share knowledge, best practices, useful technology, and opportunities for cross-project system design / solutions.


  • Keep abreast of latest and/or relevant technologies, tools and methods. Identify adoption of technology, tools and methods best suited to FNZ;

  • Proactively resolve technical (environmental, coding and testing) issues that impede development progress. Assist in the resolution of technical issues when requested by other developers; and

  • Create novel solutions to problems by incorporating cutting edge technology or generic concepts.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher (min A- average for under-graduate, first class for post-graduate);

  • Confident, and able to take initiative in a delivery-focused environment;

  • Independent, self-directing working style;

  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic fast-paced industry;

  • Enjoy working as part of a high performance team;

  • Hard-working, innovative and takes pride in their work; and

  • Passionate about creating innovative solutions for customers.

  • Experience with Microsoft development products (including C#, ASP.NET, MVC and SQL Server)

  • Team City or other CI tool chain

  • Selenium, Specflow

  • Workflow tools like Jira/Azure Devops.

  • Solid understanding of GIT
