Based in Helsinki, you will own the end-to-end energy strategy, power sourcing and portfolio management agenda, delivering strong commercial performance, disciplined risk management and effective leadership of a high-calibre team.
Key Responsibilities
- Energy Strategy - Define and implement a long-term power and energy strategy aligned with Nordic market dynamics, regulatory frameworks and our client's commercial objectives.
- Power & Commodities - Shape and optimise the power and broader commodities portfolio, leveraging deep market insight into drivers, pricing mechanisms and trading structures.
- PPA Origination & Execution - Lead the origination, structuring, negotiation and execution of Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), securing competitive, sustainable and reliable power supply.
- Power Sourcing - Design and manage sourcing strategies across multiple counterparties and contracts, optimising cost, reliability and risk while ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
- Portfolio Management - Oversee a diversified energy portfolio, balancing risk and return through data-driven decision-making, active hedging and continuous performance monitoring.
- Risk Management - Identify, quantify and mitigate market, credit and operational risks in Nordic power markets, establishing robust risk frameworks and governance.
- Analytics & Decision Support - Use advanced analytical tools and methodologies to forecast demand, assess market scenarios and provide clear, actionable insight to support strategic decisions.
- Origination & Commercial Development - Build and maintain strong relationships with market participants, utilities, developers and traders, generating new commercial opportunities and partnerships.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management - Provide clear leadership to cross-functional teams, foster a high-performance culture and engage senior stakeholders with credible, well-structured recommendations.
Profile & Experience
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Nordic power markets, with a proven track record in senior or executive-level roles.
- Extensive experience in PPA origination, structuring and execution for corporate or utility-scale counterparties.
- Strong background in energy strategy, power sourcing and portfolio management in complex, dynamic markets.
- Demonstrable expertise in quantitative analytics, market modelling and data-driven decision-making.
- Proven ability to identify, assess and manage market, credit and operational risks within power portfolios.
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging boards, executive committees and external partners.
- Leadership experience in building, developing and motivating high-performing teams.
- Deep understanding of Nordic regulatory frameworks and their impact on power and energy strategy.
