Position Overview

Details of the role and how it fits into the team

The Compliance Surveillance function at Deutsche Bank focuses on the post-event detection of market manipulation, insider trading, undesired sales practices and other risks as defined by established standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., Market Abuse Regulation, MiFID II). The focal point of our activities is the monitoring of communication, voice, and trade data.
Our German team is responsible for investigating such incidents of suspicious activities and for the filing of Suspicious Transaction and Order Reports. We analyze and report on trends identified within the scope of these activities and escalate accordingly. We cooperate with various Compliance departments across Deutsche Bank in Germany, EMEA, UKI, Americas, and APAC.

Your key responsibilities
  • Performing processes of medium to high complexity such as communication reviews or trade reviews, portfolio reviews in order to detect potential breaches such as insider trading, market manipulative actions or the disregarding of suitability guidelines
  • Ensure and supervise the review, analysis and precise evaluation of medium to high complex information such as verbal and written communications, market / trade / client data alerts, trade reports; identify potential violations of statutory provisions, legal regulations, fiduciary duties and / or internal guidelines which are to be decided, escalated and mitigated
  • Challenge existing processes / instructions and implement material improvements (which includes efficient risk coverage, parameters)
  • Coordinate and supervise small working groups and simple / sub-projects
  • Drive and supervise the resolution of potential issues and (if required) follow up with mitigating actions or measures
Your skills and experiences
  • An apprenticeship in banking alongside specialized knowledge and/or bachelor or master's degree pertaining to the financial industry and financial products
  • Interested and knowledgeable in stock markets, current events, and financial news
  • Fluent in English and / or German (oral and written)
  • Accurate, efficient, mostly independent, methodological performance of tasks
  • Team player with great attitude and work ethics
