The management of market risk is a key business priority for Nomura and is vital to the successful delivery of the firm's strategy. The AeJ Market Risk team has responsibility for the development and execution of market risk management framework for the region.

The management of market risk is a key business priority for Nomura and is vital to the successful delivery of the firm's strategy. The AeJ Market Risk team has responsibility for the development and execution of market risk management framework for the region.

 

Job Description:

The equities trading market risk function covers a wide range of strategies and products from equities capital markets to cash and derivative trading to a range of bespoke derivative and financing solutions. As part of the team, you will be involved in all the activities:

  • Managing daily risk reporting and limit monitoring and ensuring accuracy of data.
  • Reviewing and confirming accuracy of internal and regulatory stress-testing.
  • Maintain, develop and implement new reporting solutions.
  • Provide reporting to local and global Business, Risk, and Regulatory stakeholders.
  • Liaise regularly with Front Office trading and structuring to ensure issues identified (limit breach, accuracy of risk data, system problems) are addressed in timely manner.
  • Conduct analysis into risk, market, or modeling as needed.
  • Provide analysis of legal entity based risks and capital (both economic and regulatory).
  • Collaborate with other corporate functions on issues of common interest (e.g. Finance on valuation and P&L, operations).

 

Candidates for the position should:

  • With 3 years of relevant experience and at least 1 year working experience in a reporting function relating to trading businesses.
  • Experience implementing and developing reporting solutions.
  • Taste for, and proficiency in, quantitative finance.
  • VBA, SQL and database skills.
  • Experience developing reporting solutions, esp Business Objects and Business Intelligence, preferred
