We are partnering with a newly established Hong Kong based hedge fund manager building a quantamental, long-biased strategy in US equities. The firm combines proprietary quantitative models with fundamental, discretionary judgment to back durable growth companies with real competitive advantages. Seed capital is secured, the quant and operations leadership are confirmed, and this is the final senior hire before launch. This is a founding team seat, not a bolt-on.

What you will do

1. Run fundamental research across US equities and multiple sectors: modelling, valuation, industry work and management engagement
2. Originate and pitch investment ideas with a clear thesis, valuation case and risk assessment, and see them through to execution
3. Contribute directly to portfolio construction, position sizing and allocation decisions alongside the CIO
4. Feed fundamental insight into the firm's proprietary factor models, working closely with the quantitative team
5. Serve as a licensed Responsible Officer under SFC Type 9 regulated activities
6. Support investor communication and due diligence as the firm scales

What you will bring

1. 9 to 15 years total experience, with a minimum of 7 years on the buy side at a credible investment firm
2. Direct US equity coverage with genuine sector depth in at least one core area (technology, semiconductors, healthcare, financials or consumer discretionary)
3. A demonstrable track record of investment ideas you generated, pitched and saw executed with client capital. This is not a coverage-only seat; genuine investment discretion is essential
4. SFC Type 9 Licensed Representative experience (minimum 5 years, of which 4+ under Type 9), with eligibility for Responsible Officer status. Candidates with a clean, existing RO profile will have a clear advantage
5. Some management or mentoring exposure to support the RO application
6. Strong communication in fluent English and/or Mandarin; Cantonese is a plus
7. Strong academic record from a globally recognised university; CFA, FRM or an advanced degree is a plus
8. Bonus: experience in a long-biased or long-only environment, comfort with quantitative or systematic frameworks, and the temperament to thrive in a small team with high ownership
