We are looking for a Command Center Operator to join HSBC's Enterprise Infrastructure team in Hong Kong, providing first-line monitoring, incident triage, and recovery for IBM Z and/or IBM i mainframe environments in a 24/7 global operation.

Key Responsbilities

Provide first-line monitoring of the mainframe environment (IBM Z / IBM I) across APAC and global infrastructure.
Detect, triage, and escalate incidents, determining whether to initiate Major Incident Management (MIM) escalation or execute local recovery actions.
Rotate across 7x24 shift patterns (Day, Evening, Night) in a structured multi-day block rotation.
Execute straightforward recovery actions as per documented procedures; escalate to crisis protocols for critical incidents
Perform system console monitoring, respond to alerts, and manage job queues.

Key Requirements

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in infrastructure operations, command center, or mainframe/iSeries environments.
Mainframe Knowledge: Practical operational knowledge of IBM Z and/or IBM i (iSeries/AS/400) - including console monitoring, job scheduling, and system interaction.
Language: Fluent in Cantonese and English (written and spoken) - essential for daily team communication and coordination with global support teams.
Shift Work: Willingness to support 7x24 shift operations on a rotating schedule (Day, Evening, Night).
Operational Mindset: Reliable, disciplined, and process-oriented - focused on shift execution rather than deep engineering or architecture.
Basic English and Chinese would be an advantage
