FVP to SVP, Legal Counsel

Main Responsibilities:

• Providing contextual legal advice to business divisions/functions of the Bank.
• Maintaining legal oversight through attending various product approval meetings and participate in strategic business decisions.
• Driving deal negotiations and dispute resolutions on behalf of the Bank.
• Reviewing legal documents for designated the banking products and services.
• Supervising the legal procurement process and liaising with external law firm.
• Working with the Head of Legal to implement the policies and procedures prescribed by the PRC Head Office.
• Assisting the Head of Legal to deal with ad hoc projects.

Requirements:

• Degree holder in laws and admitted as a lawyer of the PRC or HKSAR.
• Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience gained in a reputable law firm.
• Conversant with PRC and HKSAR legal and regulatory requirements of the banking industry.
• Strong knowledge in banking operations with particular emphasis on cross-border banking products and services.
• Commercially minded with good business acumen.
• Pragmatic with strong drives for results.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Chinese language skills are essential.
