Job Description
- Lead the firm's global and regional commercial strategy for fixed income products, with emphasis on Bond Connect and China interbank bond market access.
- Drive revenue growth across institutional clients
- Identify and capture new revenue streams from asset managers, banks, sovereign funds, and insurers across APAC and globally.
- Build and manage strategic B2B partnerships
- Establish and deepen relationships with custodians, broker-dealers, trading platforms, and regulators involved in Bond Connect and cross-border flows.
- Oversee client acquisition and retention
- Monitor geopolitical and regulatory landscape
- Assess how China-US relations, Hong Kong policy changes, sanctions regimes, and capital controls impact bond market access and client strategies.
- Work closely with trading, compliance, legal, risk, and operations teams to deliver seamless cross-border bond trading solutions.
- Lead product development and innovation
- Drive new offerings such as ESG bonds, derivatives hedging tools, and structured solutions aligned with market demand.
- Represent the firm in industry forums, engage with HKMA, PBOC-related initiatives, industry working groups
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, pipeline tracking, and KPIs tied to AUM flows, trading volumes, and revenue growth.
The Successful Applicant
- Extensive fixed income and Bond Connect expertise
- 15+ years in capital markets with deep knowledge of China onshore/offshore bond markets, Bond Connect mechanisms, and RMB products.
- Strong B2B and institutional relationship network
- Proven track record of managing senior relationships with global financial institutions and regional partners.
- Geopolitical and regulatory awareness
- Demonstrated understanding of Asian financial regulations, Hong Kong's role, and geopolitical risks affecting capital markets.
- Leadership and commercial track record
- Experience leading regional/global teams, with measurable success in revenue growth and market expansion.
- Strategic and communication skills
- Ability to translate complex market developments into clear commercial strategies, and communicate effectively with executives, clients, and regulators.
