New job at a regional bank in Hong Kong seeks for a Section lead with 8-10 years' general compliance exp.

Your new company
You new company is a reputable regional bank that located in the heart of Central, Hong Kong. The bank operates a wide range of financial serves encompassing individual , wealth management and corporate banking.

Your new role
Your role will be a Section lead for their General Compliance team, leading 7-10 general compliance team members to enhance and sustain a strong compliance culture for the bank. Besides that, you will be responsible for maintaining a good relationship with frequent liaisons with local regulator (i.e HKMA). In sum, your role will provide compliance advice and recommendations to the business that in relation to outsourcing/ insourcing, equal opportunity related matters, including but not limited to, personal data protection.

Your team will cover:

  • Licensing: Review and handle individual/ entity licensing applications prepared by business units and HR division
  • Review marketing and publications material: Maintain compliance awareness by providing professional compliance advice to relevant staff
  • Ad-hoc regulatory compliance projects: Lead the general compliance team to assist in any ad-hoc compliance related projects designated by management
  • Business Compliance advisory: Perform regulatory compliance advisory to the business and/or functional departments when responding to any compliance-related inquiries
  • Central compliance tasks: Handle HKMA's inquiries and act as the central point of contact to communicate with business/ supporting units in ways to resolve/ provide supporting information raised / initiated by regulators

What you'll need to succeed
You role will be a mid-senior position within their compliance department, thus you are required to have:

  • Degree holder in Law, business or related disciplines
  • At least 8 years' general compliance experience with prior team leading exposure at a local bank.
  • Posses strong leadership with exceptional communication skills with business and regulator
  • Demonstrate sounding knowledge of local regulation requirements and experience in managing outsourcing/insourcing, personal date protection...etc.
