OLO SME - CIB Operations VP - Hong Kong

The Office of Legal Obligation (OLO) program is a firm-wide, global initiative that brings together the expertise of Legal, Lines of Business (LoBs), Oversight & Control, Compliance, Risk and other key control functions, to proactively manage regulatory changes in our operations and allow us to trace end-to-end connections between laws, rules and regulations on the one hand, and our policies and procedures that demonstrate compliance on the other.

The role is within the M&IS Ops SME team who are responsible for Identification and mapping execution, this includes assessing the applicability of the obligations and mapping to procedures or other supporting documentation.

The role involves working extensively with Operations Control Management (OCM), Operations and Business Stakeholders to investigate, co-ordinate and collate the required supporting documentation.
The role will provide considerable exposure to both functional partners and the business. This role reports functionally to the M&IS Ops OLO Lead. As an integral member of the team you will assist in the delivery of key responsibilities that include:

  • Reviewing obligations and assessing applicability to Operations
  • Mapping of obligations to required supporting documentation within ELA
  • Collaborate with OCM, Operations and key stakeholders to ensure a clear and well-coordinated program and consistent interpretation of applicable obligations
  • Regular reporting to Senior Management
  • Compile procedure gap analysis data for communication to M&IS Ops Central team and work with the CIB OLO procedure work stream
  • Subject matter expert on OLO process and tool related topics
  • Respond and resolve items identified by QC, QA and audit process
  • Relevant experience/knowledge of financial products is essential
  • Business knowledge with regulatory/compliance experience or knowledge of financial products highly desirable
  • Familiarity with multiple CIB businesses is an advantage
  • Strong business analysis skills to enable efficient, accurate and objective decision making
  • Candidate needs to be comfortable working and partnering with people at all levels and across all functional areas
  • Ability to understand business processes and relate them to regulations
  • Ability to partner closely with related functions to ensure a coordinated and effective program
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
