Job Purpose:

Treasury and Trade Solutions (TTS) provides award-winning integrated cash management and trade finance services to multinational corporations, financial institutions and public sector organizations across the world.    The TTS Asia business was recently awarded Euromoney's Best Transaction Bank in Asia given our leading capabilities, solutions and depth of client relationships across 15 markets in Asia Pacific.   

The Regional C2B collections product manager will play a critical role in delivering a strong C2B receivables product proposition across 15 markets in APAC.  The product manager will play a key role in developing a comprehensive C2B collection strategy for APAC covering wallets, cards and instant payments.   

He/she will bring deep commercial and payment systems expertise and execution discipline to drive competitive differentiation in C2B space, through the ability to:  
  • Articulate the C2B strategy by market, including articulation of need for differentiation by specific market i.e., global or regional vs local strategy
  • Identify and build comprehensive proposition including payment gateways, acquiring, alternate payment mechanisms (wallets such as Alipay, Wechat), bank transfers, Request to Pay, POS and QR code capabilities.
  • Partner with Markets on developing x-border collection proposition using local capabilities
  • Partner with Consumer bank to develop unified solutions, including financing capabilities such as pay later
  • Understand and anticipate client needs across APAC, ensuring the product roadmap delivers continuous and commercially relevant innovation collection mechanisms
The role will involve working closely and extensively with global and country teams, the Regional Channels & Enterprise team, Asia Pacific Technology, and key partners in Product Sales, Operations, Technology and Client Delivery to optimize delivery of emerging payments and receivables functionality and develop market strategies for new flows and segments, and maintain a pristine risk and control environment. 

Job Background/Context:

The APAC emerging payments and receivables business is expected to be a key revenue driver contributing to the core cash business, especially in the ecommerce space.  

Asia Pacific is a region of vibrant transformation to digital payment systems, innovative ecommerce companies and an accelerated migration from paper to electronic transactions. Various countries in the APAC region are also rapidly developing alternate payment methods to enable and digitize C2B flows. This in turn allows consumers to pay using a wide variety of payment mechanisms to our clients

As a result of the business strategy to focus on new payment and collections flows and capabilities, the business aspires to become a leading player in the emerging payments and receivables to further increase our market share with clients in Asia.  This would also help the business onboard and support new, emerging economy companies in their growth journey. 

This role will focus on building out C2B collection capabilities across Asia pacific to tap into existing and emerging flows. This role also involves providing strategic product engagement and support with 15 country teams across APAC.

The target is to achieve positive fee growth revenue and accelerate the growth trajectory in a sustainable manner over the next 3 years which will require executing growth and transformation priorities successfully. 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive product strategy to ensure new and existing Citi products and solutions address the emerging client requirements coming from both traditional and emerging client segments 
  • Drive identification and partnership with acquirers across key Asian markets
  • Identify and integrate with key wallets across APAC
  • Lead client validation of proposed solution to ensure key client needs are met.
  • Define and drive the build of new capabilities using internal and/or external providers 
  • Product Commercialization 
  • Partnering with relevant units to support and drive market management   
  • Identifying and addressing Client Trends through thought leadership material and product packages    
  • Extending share of wallet by better articulating our global/regional/local value proposition
  • Determining the pricing framework for applicable products
  • Putting in place an effective Operations and Service Model for applicable products 
  • Risk, Control and Regulatory oversight of applicable products
  • Work with key global, regional and country stake holders to prioritize and implement the various C2B solution components 
  • Develop and drive strategic innovation in all components of product platform to deliver solutions that increase scale, competitive differentiation and  remain commercially relevant to clients
  • Develop deep product expertise to support a rapidly changing business environment for Citi and its clients. 
  • Oversees the regulatory, risk and compliance of the faster payments and receivables products in APAC. Engages with Auditors, Risk Managers, New Product Approval Committee members, Legal, Compliance officers and other individuals as needed in order to maintain a pristine risk and control environment.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for sales to help review client needs, solutioning, pricing, and present recommendations and proposals, assist in implementation and serve as liaison with internal and external partners/ stakeholders to resolve complex client issues.

Knowledge/Experience:
  • At least 6 year's experience in cash management/emerging payments/Acquiring business 
  • Strong knowledge of product management disciplines
  • Experience and knowledge across all components of payments preferred (e.g. operations, technology, client delivery, risk, market management, sales and/or business management experience)
Skills:
  • Strong product and project management expertise to deliver a slew of new payments products
  • Strategic experience to develop vision for product roadmap and assessing most attractive client opportunity areas
  • Strong analytical skills to prioritize opportunities, quickly distill complexity to most critical components and analyze wide range of information, draw conclusions and communicate data-driven findings 
  • Problem solving and solutioning skills to drive disciplined execution 
  • Strong communications skills given the range of cross-functional engagement required for success
  • Strong technical knowledge preferred
Qualifications:
  • MBA Preferred - Tertiary Qualification Essential
