Position Overview
We are recruiting an experienced Tool Migration & Automation Engineer to drive a critical technology transformation initiative. This role focuses on phasing out legacy spreadsheet dependencies and transitioning business-critical workflows to scalable, secure, and modern enterprise platforms.

The successful candidate will evaluate existing desktop applications, design robust migration paths, and collaborate with front-line business units, risk management, and central IT. You will replace fragmented macros with sustainable solutions utilizing modern programming languages, data pipelines, and reporting frameworks while maintaining uninterrupted operations and strict data governance.


Key Responsibilities

• System Evaluation: Catalog, assess, and audit legacy business-owned computing tools and macro-driven spreadsheets.
• Architecture Modernization: Redesign legacy processes into sustainable architectures using REST APIs, enterprise applications, and modern scripting.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with business users, risk controllers, and engineering teams to gather requirements and integrate systems.
• Data & Analytics: Develop advanced reporting dashboards and automated data pipelines to replace manual reporting.
• Process Optimization: Challenge established operational workflows to eliminate redundancies and introduce process efficiencies.

Technical Qualifications

• Database Management: Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database querying.
• Business Intelligence: Advanced knowledge of data visualization tools, specifically Power BI and data transformation pipelines (Power Query).
• Version Control: Standard proficiency with Git or equivalent source control workflows.

Preferred Expertise

• Development Skills: Hands-on experience with Python and object-oriented programming (C# / .NET).
• Integration Experience: Background building or maintaining modern office add-ins and API integrations.
• Business Acumen: Experience working directly alongside front-line financial business users or fast-paced trading operations.
• Modernization Track Record: Proven history of executing application migration and legacy software retirement initiatives.
