Deriv (HK) Ltd

Deriv (HK) Ltd. will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Deriv Group and intends to apply for a Type 3 (leveraged foreign exchange) licence in order to offer a full suite of leveraged FX trading facilities in Hong Kong.

Your role

You’ll ensure the Group’s compliance with all the regulations and guidelines issued by the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC), as well as any other applicable regulatory standards. Your ability to effectively communicate with both regulatory bodies and cross-functional teams within Deriv enables you to be the ideal liaison as you collaborate closely with all departments, including Trading, Compliance, Risk, and Accounts. 

Your challenges

• Assist in the Type 3 licence application with the SFC and setting up the office, recruiting, training, and leading the Hong Kong team.
• Act as Responsible Officer/ Licensed Representative with management duties: manage daily operations to ensure full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Provide expert insight to management to improve business operations.
• Conduct communications with the SFC and other regulatory bodies.

What you have

• A degree in banking, finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of management experience
• Registration with the SFC as a Type 3 Responsible Officer within the past 3 years; or a Type 3 Licensed Representative who has been registered with the SFC for at least 3 years in the past 6 years; or Type 2 Responsible Officer can be considered
• Sound knowledge of relevant regulations and guidelines
• Experience in the financial industry, notably in FX trading
• Experience in communicating verbally and in writing with financial regulators
• Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
• Strong analytical, leadership, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent spoken and written English and Cantonese or Mandarin communication skills
