SVP-Fin Shared Services Leader

Location: Gurgaon, Haryana, India

The Finance Shared Services Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and the strategic decisions of the Global Shared Services Center as they relate to in-scope Finance processes. The Finance processes in-scope for the Shared Services Center are accounts payable, record to report, financial systems, order to cash and payroll.
Shared Service Center Ownership
  • Manage team of 200+ shared service specialists that executes Finance activities such as processing invoices, journal entries, cash applications, and more
  • Own Shared Service Center-wide strategic and business planning process
Service Delivery in line with Performance Requirements
  • Provide input to Shared Service Center performance metric and target level setting and prioritization of transformation projects
  • Create an effective shared services delivery structure by implementing management practices required to optimize a delivery organization such as service level agreements, performance metrics and reporting, billing and chargeback disciplines, etc.
  • Optimize organizational effectiveness through assessing opportunities to streamline activities or reducing rework/unnecessary work, controlling costs without sacrificing quality, productivity and customer service, and managing change with limited business disruption
  • Oversee all transaction processing, financial reporting, and other finance activities performed in the Shared Services Center
  • Support external audit and SOX/internal audit requests
  • Understand emerging technologies within Finance and assess and implement those that deliver value and are in line with the organization's strategic priorities
  • Ensure flawless execution to gain credibility with internal customers and stakeholders
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Actively support and coordinate Shared Service Center improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiencies and improved controls
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration between departments to faciliate optimal end-to-end process performance
  • Foster strong relationships between the Shared Service Center and the business by promoting transparency and open lines of communication in order to overcome resistance, lead change, and work across functions and business units
Management
  • Supervise and manage Finance Process Leads, ensuring communication and coordination within and across teams
  • Lead the team through ambiguity and change, use actve-listening skills and proactively address uncertainties to ensure an aligned approach
  • Partner with HR to identify strategy to meet evolving staffing needs to effectively and efficiently develop and shift talent to areas of need
  • Manage direct reports' goals and objectives; prepare employee performance evaluations in a timely manner; ensure staff maintains Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results within management expectations where necessary
  • Engage the team in the possibilities for process design and deduce the optimal way to deliver services
  • Develop/mentor team; provide advice, counselling, soft skills guidance; interpersonal, interaction skills; promote a diverse and inclusive work environment

Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum 15+ years finance and / or accounting experience, and between 5 - 7 years in a senior leadership position working for a global company
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business related discipline
  • Strong understanding of finance business processes and accounting policies, GAAP, and statutory accounting principles
  • Must be able to communicate ideas both orally and in writing to influence others through one-on-one conversations, formal presentations, and group discussions and support all communications with relevant metrics
  • Broad mix of operational and functional experiences with a sound understanding of risks and issues that impact global service delivery and operations, particularly in Finance Shared Services
  • Ability to interact with customers to ensure a high quality of service, while balancing expectations and realizations
  • International travel required


Preferred
