VP RTR Delivery Lead

Location: Gurgaon, Haryana, India

The Record to Report Delivery Lead will be responsible for ensuring timely completion of enterprise-wide month-end and year-end closing and the financial reporting process, ensuring accurate results and compliance with laws and regulations
Accounting
  • Manage general ledger and financial statement/reporting activities across all in-scope regions, as well as month-end and year-end close activities
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Shared Service Center record to report accounting team, including general ledger, fixed assets, financial reporting (including XBRL reporting), intercompany, and consolidations
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of timely and accurate operating/financial statements, including flux reports, balance sheet reconciliations, local statutory & regulatory reports, and adhoc analysis to both internal management and external users
  • Ensure compliance with local GAAP requirement of all national and/or regional laws and regulations associated with duties and responsibilities by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions
  • Prepare regulatory reports and filings for all MIS regulated entities regionwide and analyze new and future changes with Compliance that will impact regulatory reporting framework in different jurisdictions
  • Ensure compliance with fiscal close calendar, including collaborating with various teams impacted by or participating in the fiscal close process
  • Manage and oversee control procedures and practices to ensure no significant SOX control deficiencies in the record to report delivery function
  • Support external audit and SOX/internal audit requests
  • Identify, support, and lead Shared Service Center Record to Report improvement initiatives to drive operational efficiencies and improved controls
  • Support regional leadership through business partnering by providing metrics, problem resolution, and reporting process performance
  • Remain up to date on accounting policies and procedures of all areas (i.e. territories) in-scope
Management
  • Assist in defining the team structure, roles, and reporting avenues for the Global Shared Services Record to Report team
  • Supervise and manage the record to report delivery team of approximately 55 team members (including general ledger, fixed assets, financial reporting, intercompany, and consolidations), ensuring communication and coordination within and across teams
  • Manage direct reports' goals and objectives; prepare employee performance evaluations in a timely manner; ensure staff maintains Key Performance Indicator (KPI) results within management expectations where necessary
  • Participate in Controllership change management discussion on processes, providing feedback and recommendations, and implementing changes within the team
  • Develop/mentor team; provide advice, counselling, soft skills guidance; interpersonal, interaction skills and review of focus areas from Business Effectiveness Survey (BES) scores

Qualifications
Required
  • Minimum 15+ years of Accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Accounting Certifications (i.e. Chartered Accountant, CPA etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge of general ledger and intercompany concepts and applications
  • Advanced understanding of accounting policies, GAAP, and statutory accounting principles
  • Advanced knowledge of IFRS standards
  • Strong understanding of accounting metrics and SLAs and the factors that influence them
  • Experience working with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
  • Broad mix of operational and functional experiences with a sound understanding of risks and issues that impact global service delivery and operations, particularly in accounting
  • Ability to interact with customers to ensure a high quality of service, while balancing expectations and realizations
Must be able to communicate ideas both orally and in writing to influence others through one-on-one conversations, formal presentations, and group discussions

Preferred
