Assistant Accountant

Our client a leading Asset Management company in Dublin city centre have an opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant.

Within this role you will have the opportunity to learn and work with a team of investment and finance professionals within the organisation and across a broad array of alternative and traditional investment funds, third party service providers and external clients.

Role detail:

  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of fund budgets, including liaison with fund managers and service providers
  • Responsible for timely and accurate fee invoicing, including complex fee structures working to strict reporting deadlines
  • Collection and payment of fees on a timely basis in line with agreed company and client authorised procedures including generation of payment instructions
  • Effective maintenance and accurate record of invoices and payments
  • Ownership of client queries and support other partners in driving solutions to all fee challenges and ensure smooth resolution
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts, variance analysis and month-end reconciliations
  • Enforcement of internal controls - expenses, invoicing, receivables and purchasing
  • Participate as Subject Matter Expert in all fees related changes and projects
  • Review and update procedures and develop information systems efficiencies
  • Assist in bringing forward business process improvement & automation initiatives

 

The candidate:

  • University degree preferably in accounting, finance or economics.
  • Part-qualified ACCA Accountant
  • 2 - 3 years’ experience in a similar role ideally having worked within the funds / asset management sector.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly numerate with strong analytical skills
  • Exceptional relationship building skills
  • Ability to work in a high volume, high intensity environment
  • Proficiency in MS Excel with advanced macro / VBA skills desirable
