We currently have a vacancy for an Associate - Consumer Policy in the Consumer Policy and Research Division on a contract of indefinite duration. These roles are aligned with the Bank Executive grade and the salary scale applies. Please click here for further information on our salary scales.

The purpose of the role is to conduct initial analysis and research on investor protection policy matters and to assist the Investment and Innovation Team in the development, implementation and interpretation of consumer policy, including assisting with the production of high quality technically accurate recommendations and evidence-based policy and policy outcomes in a timely and efficient manner.

It is important to us that our people have flexibility in their role and we will shortly transition to a hybrid working model where they can balance their time between working from home and our office.

Responsibilities:

Assist Policy Specialist and Manager with researching, analysing, development, implementation and interpretation of policy projects, focusing on investment and innovation.
Engage as necessary with relevant internal and external stakeholders on consumer policy matters in order to assist in fostering a culture of collaborating and sharing at all stages in consumer policy development (pre-consultation, consultation, outputs of policy work)
Assist with the development/drafting of appropriate training of consumer policy outputs designed to ensure that policy outcomes are understood and embedded as intended.
Assist the Policy Specialist with horizon scanning in order to remain alert to the changing external environment impacting on consumers of financial services and the impact on existing consumer policy or the need to advocate for legislative change.
Carry out such other ad-hoc activities as determined by the manager to include administration, minute taking, preparing briefing papers, preparing statistics, attendance at meeting etc.

Requirements:

Third level honours degree or professional qualification in business, finance, economics, law or any related discipline and/or comparable relevant experience.
Relevant professional qualification (e.g. QFA, LCOI or equivalent qualification)
Regulation/financial services/policy analysis experience desirable.
Information seeking, analytical, problem solving, and organisational skills.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Acting professionally, ethically and with integrity
Teamwork and collaboration
Enthusiastic and willingness to learn
