A leading Irish bank based in Dublin now requires a Compliance Specialist to work alongside a team and closely with senior manager to provide advice and support with the compliance monitoring requirements across the Bank.

The Role;

  • Provide Compliance advice, guidance and sign off on second line to assigned business areas as required on the first line.
  • Participate in Bank projects and remediation exercises to ensure regulatory requirements are considered
  • Assist in drafting and documenting monitoring procedures, sampling methodologies to appropriate standards
  • Ensure thematic reviews and regular monitoring feedback is of appropriate standard
  • Provide assistance to Compliance Monitoring senior management in monitoring, reporting and advising on the state of compliance to the Bank’s senior management including the input into monthly reports to the board
  • Delivery of periodic and thematic monitoring elements of the Compliance plan
  • As part of thematic reviews and projects, identify, monitor, analyse and assess issues, complaints and incidents.
  • Review breaches registers, incident reports, complaint logs, and other appropriate records ahead of any monitoring to ensure trends are identified and covered in monitoring reviews.
  • Review the compliance manual, other manuals and internal policies to ensure, where relevant to activities monitored, these are up to date and fit for purpose and feedback any suggested improvements to the Head of Compliance Monitoring.
  • Feed into regular reporting cycle and Compliance committees
  • Be the subject matter expert on the banking regulations etc
  • Ensure all responsibilities assigned by management are completed in a professional and timely manner.

The Person:

  • At least 3 to 5 years’ experience within a Compliance monitoring/Audit or other relevant function from a credit institution
  • Experience in working with Compliance monitoring role with a good understanding of financial services regulation and how to apply it in a business environment
  • LCOI designation or other relevant qualification, If the successful applicant does not hold the LCOI designation they will be expected to obtain this as part of the role
  • Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Be highly motivated and possess strong commercial awareness
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • An analytical approach with an attention for detail and report writing ability
  • MS Office – Word; Excel; PowerPoint – working knowledge on all
  • Excellent document writing skills
  • Good command of MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Access
