DevOps Engineer

Our client builds quantitative models to price markets in the US Sports Trading Industry. With the growth of this industry industry in Europe, they have opened an office in Dublin.

They are focused on building algorithms to produce the most competitive real-time odds for both pregame and in-game betting, using their in-house technology. As a DevOps engineer, you will be supporting and maintaining these systems as well as making proactive improvements to their platform.

What you’ll do:

• Automate processes and writing scripts in Python within their trading environment and with live production code.

• Work within their SQL database for cleaning, storage, and data pipeline related work.

• Handle real-time operation issues in an efficient and prompt manner.

• Work on a rotating on call schedule for their production environment.

• Build operational tools and applications to support both their trading system and team.

• Other duties as assigned.

Skills you’ll need:

• Strong Python experience

• Strong Linux skills

• SQL experience 

• Prior DevOps experience

• Ability to multi-task and keep an eye on things while working

• Ability to manage competing priorities in real-time

• Strong communication skills

• Availability to work evenings and/or weekends while live sports are being played

• Strong problem solving skills

• Reliable and predictable availability

This is a hybrid opportunity offering 3-4 days wfh (likely 1-2 for first few months whilst you get familiar with their systems) and many opportunities for echnincal growth. Due to the size of the company, you will be exposed to many different technologies and will have opportunties to get involved in many different aspects of work.
