ESG and European Compliance - State Street Global Advisors, Assistant Vice President, Hybrid
Who we are looking for State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual enhance and develop the firm's ESG compliance program. The successful candidate will be a key member of the Compliance organization and will be located in Dublin. They will report directly to the SSGA Head of European and ESG Compliance, located in Dublin. The candidate will play a key role in the global ESG compliance programme, will be responsible for implementing a strong second line of defense and will need to successfully engage with business teams on ESG matters.
A strong knowledge of asset management products, services and operations is essential. High levels of drive and focus together with enthusiasm for working in an international organization which delivers a global compliance programme are critical to the role.
This role is based in Dublin, Ireland, and is a hybrid working arrangement requiring 3 days per week in the office.

What you will be responsible for As ESG and European Compliance, AVP, you will work directly with the SSGA Head of European and ESG Compliance on the following responsibilities:
- develop and maintain a general understanding of requirements for corporate sustainability practice and regulatory considerations for fiduciaries that exercise investment discretion in ESG investment strategies and products
- act as subject matter expert on ESG regulation for compliance team
- coordinate with regional subject matter experts on global ESG regulatory implementation, including evaluation of ESG regulatory requirements and business impact of ESG regulatory requirements
- provide ESG compliance support to business teams on ESG regulatory requirements and regulator expectations
- conduct testing on ESG-related compliance risks in the areas of portfolio management, product, and client related processes, including risk associated with investment selection and classification, new product launches, marketing, reporting, disclosures, and servicing practices; integrate into existing compliance and risk methodology
- participate in the ongoing implementation and execution of risk assessments and other testing related to ESG
- execute ESG an assessment of all existing and pending ESG-related regulation; monitor implementation of pending regulatory requirements
- develop global guidance on ESG regulatory requirements
- enhance the Core Compliance Oversight Program and related areas (e.g., embedded risks) with respect to ESG regulatory requirements

Education & Preferred Qualifications - educated to degree level
- minimum of 2 years relevant experience within asset management compliance is a must
- a strong knowledge of asset management products, services and operations is essential
- previous exposure to global compliance programme is critical
- previous ESG compliance experience is highly desirable
- additional professional, academic or relevant industry qualifications are also desirable
