Title: Associate, Enterprise & Operational Risk Specialist, Enterprise Risk Management

Business Overview
The Risk & Quantitative Analysis (RQA) group provides independent oversight of BlackRock's fiduciary and enterprise risks. RQA's principal objectives are to advance the firm's risk management practices and to deliver independent risk expertise and constructive challenge to drive better business and investment outcomes. The Enterprise Risk team within RQA strategically identifies, assesses, and prepares for potential losses or harm to the firm's finances, operations and objectives. The team plays an important role in protecting BlackRock and our clients, partnering with stakeholders to oversee operational, technology, third party, model, reputational and market risks. The global Operational Risk team within Enterprise Risk is responsible for all aspects of operational risk, including error investigation and resolution, new product and business change risk assessments, risk reporting / analysis and the maintenance and development of the operational risk framework,

What you have:
  • A degree in Business, Finance, or Risk Management-related field
  • 2+ years of enterprise and operational risk management-related experience or Internal Audit experience in the Financial Services industry.
  • Experience in conducting operational due diligence, managing third party risks, intragroup outsourcing risks and/or operational resilience in accordance with Central Bank of Ireland CP 86/ CP138/ CP 140 and European Banking Authority Outsourcing requirements would be advantageous.
  • Internal Audit experience covering operational risk, third party and outsourcing risks would be advantageous.
  • An ability to explain complex ideas in simple but impactful terms and experience using effective communication to influence outcomes.
  • An understanding of the fundamental principles of operational risk management, including error investigation and resolution, risk assessments, risk analysis and the necessity to react quickly when appropriate. Experience in risk profiling, the use of Key Risk Indicators and Risk and Control Self Assessments would be advantageous.
  • A collaborative approach to identify error root causes and trends, material risk and control themes and to advise on changes to processes across business areas.
  • Experience in compiling Risk Reporting.
You might also have:
  • An FRM designation or other industry certifications (or are working towards one).
  • Good negotiation skills, ability to resolve conflict between teams or individuals so that functional / organizational objectives are achieved through teamwork.
  • Experience working with fund products (UCITS and AIFs) and financial market instruments.
