Role
To work in a team environment performing depositary duties in accordance with corporate governance and infrastructure, Central Bank of Ireland and local market regulations and the requirements of fund documentation. This entails areas including and, not limited to, client management, monitoring fund compliance with investment restrictions, engaging with regulators and audit firms, producing accurate MI reporting, assisting in depositary projects and initiatives and supporting new business activity within the depositary business.
Principal Responsibilities - First point of contact for clients and internal partners for allocated clients. - Responsible for servicing allocated clients including timely escalation of issues on a day to day basis. - Responsibility for on-boarding new funds / structures for allocated clients. - Attend and present at quarterly board meetings and due diligence visits for allocated clients. - Participate in ad-hoc client meetings/ calls. - Review fund documentation from a depositary perspective, including prospectus/ supplement / RMP / Valuation Policies / SLD and DDQ. - Perform periodic investment restriction reviews. - Investigate breaches and communicate to fund promoter / investment manager. - Update the regulatory breaches register. - Ensure prompt response to client & internal queries. - Arrange the setup of new funds on the automated compliance monitoring system. - Complete monthly client reports and ensure reports are sent within SLD deadline. - Produce quarterly board report and issue to Corp. Sec within deadline. - Complete and monitor fund risk assessment reporting. - Update and maintain the regulatory breaches & error registers - Report investment breaches to fund boards and the CBI as required. - Report material price errors to fund boards and the CBI as required. - Assist in the completion of the annual on - site inspection of each operational section in the administration company if required. - Assist with the on-going monitoring of appointed global custodians / prime brokers if required. - Work on team projects (e.g. new regulations and process improvements). - Assist with the completion and submission of MI to Depositary committees. - Participate in the development of the procedures within the department. - Ability to identify risks and issues and escalate appropriately to the management team.
Skills - Excellent communication and time management skills. - Strong problem solving, technical and analytical skills. - Ability to work within a multi-team structure. - Ability to work on own initiative. - The successful candidate must display ambition, positivity, confidence, discipline, approachability and enthusiasm.
Experience - It is expected the successful candidate will have between 5 - 7 years' relevant fund industry experience. - Understanding of the laws and regulations applicable to depositary - in particular, requirements for Irish funds. - Working fund knowledge including exposure to complex asset and fund structures. - Experience in a depositary role or similar is required.
