Role/ Department: The Network Infrastructure Monitoring Observability Advanced Tooling Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and performance of a complex network infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining observability tooling solutions for a complex network infrastructure.
The key responsibilities of the role include: - Design and implement network infrastructure monitoring and observability solutions using advanced tooling and techniques.
- Create and maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide real-time insights into the health of the network infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for the efficient monitoring and management of network devices and services.
- Analyze and troubleshoot network performance issues, and work with cross-functional teams to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including technical procedures and system specifications, for network infrastructure monitoring and observability solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and tools related to network monitoring, observability, and automation, and make recommendations for improvements to the existing infrastructure.
Skills/ Qualifications: This position requires a highly skilled engineer with experience in network monitoring, infrastructure observability, and advanced tooling to detect and diagnose problems in the network. You will have a passion for technology, a strong work ethic, and a desire to continuously learn and improve their skills. The successful candidate will benefit from having: - Extensive experience in network infrastructure monitoring, observability, and automation.
- In-depth knowledge of network protocols, devices, and services, including TCP/IP, routing protocols, switches, routers, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.
- Experience with advanced observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Jaeger, and Zipkin.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Bash, and/or Go.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex network issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
