Job Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Credit Officer within the Asia Pacific Credit Department, providing independent credit risk assessment and approvals in line with internal credit policies and risk appetite.
- Lead credit underwriting, review, and approval for Structured Credit / Asset-Backed Lending, with a primary focus on Securitisation (e.g., Auto Loan ABS, RMBS), while also covering (or expanding into) Fund Finance and non-recourse lending depending on business needs and deal flow.
- For Securitisation / Structured Credit transactions, perform end-to-end credit analysis including:
- review of underlying collateral (asset characteristics, performance history, servicing/operational considerations),
- cash flow / waterfall analysis, stress testing, and evaluation of triggers and structural protections,
- assessment of credit enhancement and transaction structure,
- documentation-related credit considerations and key terms.
- Conduct ongoing portfolio management for approved exposures, including performance monitoring, covenant/trigger tracking, watchlist actions, and escalation of emerging risks.
- Prepare clear and decision-ready credit materials (credit memos, approval packages, monitoring updates) with well-supported recommendations and actionable risk mitigants.
- Partner closely with Front Office and relevant control functions to progress transactions efficiently while maintaining robust independent risk challenge.
- Drive deal execution from a credit perspective at Director level, including leading risk mitigation discussions, negotiating key structural protections, and aligning stakeholders toward an approvable outcome.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of credit frameworks, underwriting standards, and monitoring approaches across securitisation, Fund Finance, and non-recourse / structured lending.
- Support knowledge sharing and capability building within the APAC credit team (e.g., coaching, review, best-practice dissemination).
Job Requirements
Must-have:
- Strong hands-on expertise in Securitisation / Structured Credit with the ability to perform credit evaluation for products such as Auto Loan ABS, RMBS, etc., based on:
- collateral characteristics and performance history,
- cash flow modeling / waterfall mechanics,
- credit enhancement mechanisms,
- structural features and documentation considerations.
- Solid credit skillset to evaluate Structured Credit / Asset-Backed Lending beyond traditional securitisation.
- Demonstrated ability to form an independent, well-reasoned credit view, articulate key risks, and propose practical mitigants (structure, covenants, triggers, reserves, collateral terms, etc.).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear written credit analysis and to discuss complex risk topics with Front Office and senior stakeholders.
- Director-level deal management / risk challenge capability: ability to engage with Front Office as a peer, appropriately challenge assumptions, and proactively develop risk mitigation options and landing points.
- Knowledge of interest rate and FX derivatives risks associated with structures such as Fund Finance (e.g., hedging structures, basis risk, CSA/collateralization, counterparty exposure).
- Broad experience across Structured Finance / Product Credit, including Warehouse Finance and NAV Finance.
- High adaptability to new products and asset classes: ability to identify fundamental risks in low-precedent transactions and design a fit-for-purpose underwriting and approval approach.
