The Asia Head of Sales to the Global Consumer Group (GCG) will be focusing on providing best-in-class markets access, advisory and execution capabilities across all asset classes and building stronger connectivity between the Global Consumer Group and Markets & Securities Services to ensure we maintain a leading position across Markets product with GCG.
The successful candidate will manage a sales team within Asia regions in which the Consumer Bank operates, working with multiple partners in GCG (i.e. RMs, Investment & Portfolio Consultants, Financial Advisors and Product), as well as in Markets (i.e. Sales and Trading desks globally and the Multi-Asset Group). 
The role requires strong analytical and quantitative skills and a strategic approach to delivering Retail flow and structured products and solutions, focusing on bringing the most appropriate opportunities to the right client segments.
The role will report to the Global Head of Sales to Global Consumer Group.  The position can be based in Hong Kong or Singapore, and will require a moderate amount of travel regionally.
Key Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

Business Development & Strategy:
  • Develop a coordinated business strategy to deliver the full range of proprietary and non-proprietary products and solutions to the GCG Asia.  Drive strategic initiatives and activities to maximize growth in Markets product sales
  • Travel to market Market's multi asset class capabilities and coverage options that Citi can offer
  • Lead marketing initiatives to deliver content and education in partnership with GCG sales teams
  • Secure the necessary resources to drive business, from both Product partners (e.g. structuring, trading etc.), as well as business support functions (e.g. technology, operations)
Product Development and Platform:
  • Lead product technology integration efforts to improve our structuring, issuance and execution platforms to the GCG channels
  • Ensure that the GCG sales / product teams have access to and service from all relevant Markets desks for flow and structured products.
  • Facilitate access to market colour and product from global sources across Citi Research and Markets.
  • Provide leadership and support in the identification, design, approval, training and successful implementation of new products or variations
  • Business role responsible for coordinating the global NPAC/MPAC/DPAC processes
  • Own and coordinate the multiple projects required to drive business efficiency and client experience
  • Drive a coordinated approach to regional product launches including origination, demand assessment, marketing and execution efforts
  • Work with Business Risk and Control Partners to drive the right processes for product approvals, distribution agreements and regional regulatory controls.
Management Reporting:
  • Work closely with Finance to ensure accurate reporting of the business with the GCG.
  • Management reporting such as MBR's and Capital Market Reviews
  • Periodic Revenue Outlook forecasts
  • Budgeting/planning
  • Expense management


Qualifications

  • In-depth experience of all Markets products, ideally with exposure also to retail clients usage
  • Successful understanding and leadership of a sales or trading business and strong intellectual grasp of the industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Superior problem solving skills; pragmatic approach to ensure limited resources are directed appropriately
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, engineering or a related field required.
  • Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin and spoken Cantonese is preferred as the candidate will be working closely with Chinese clients.
