You will be in a lean team, and working closely with the Regional Legal Counsel to provide legal support for real estate acquisitions, investments, and financings in various countries in the Asia-Pacific region
As Legal Counsel, you will be primarily responsible for the following:
- Provide legal support for real estate acquisitions, investments, and financings in various countries in the Asia-Pacific region
- Give preliminary legal structuring advice and assist with legal review of preliminary documents for potential acquisition opportunities, joint ventures, and financing arrangements
- Instruct and coordinate with external counsels to conduct legal due diligence and finalize transaction and financing documents
- Ensure legal, regulatory, and ethical compliance in deals while achieving commercial objectives
- Review legal documentation and provide timely legal advice to various teams within the company Promote adherence to compliance policies and investigate any potential violations
- Manage disputes and potential disputes to minimize legal and reputational risk
- Monitor legal developments in relevant jurisdictions to ensure compliance Implement technological solutions to streamline entity management, contract management, and corporate secretarial functions
The is a generalist in-house position that encompasses multiple areas of law including real estate, M&A, banking and finance, corporate, employment, competition, antitrust, technology, intellectual property, data privacy, and dispute resolution.
Candidates should have experience or background in one or more of these practice areas, with an aptitude for drawing from a diverse range of skills and knowledge to deliver sensible commercial solutions.
The role involves collaborating closely with colleagues from different departments and across seven countries, so strong communication and interpersonal skills are required. Admission to practice law in any Asia-Pacific jurisdiction, a combination of law firm and in-house experience, and experience in multiple Asia-Pacific jurisdictions would be considered favourably.
