Compliance Office for Asia – Global Financial Crimes Division Technology APAC MUFG Bank, Ltd

Job responsibilities:

  • Drive and project manage Financial Crime and Core Compliance technology work streams Change Management
  • Play main coordinator role within the Change Management process in the APAC region for any Financial Crime & Compliance (FCC) technology related changes
  • Be Regional point of contact for Change Management related matters in the APAC region and provide support to the local branches as required
  • Review FCC system change applications submitted by APAC Local branches/other departments in Singapore branch
  • Conduct Q&A sessions with applicants as needed to ensure all information required for an accurate assessment of a FCC system update is captured
  • Play primary approver role for all the FCC system change requests received across the APAC region
  • Inform Regional Financial Crime Technology Head of each FCC system change request assessment conducted
  • Ensure that all the relevant documentation (as part of a FCC system change request) is collected and stored accordingly in the bank´s internal Change Management tool
  • Review all the change request related documentation to ensure that the expected quality standards are met
  • Ensure that FCC technology changes are socialised with the respective business Heads of Departments before any system implementation
  • Work closely and coordinate with Data Governance team for an accurate assessment of the requests received
  • o Notify the applicants on the approval/rejection decision taken as part of the assessment exercise conducted
  • Generate and distribute weekly/monthly Management Information for reporting to the Financial Crime Heads and other senior Management as necessary
  • Strict adherence to project deadlines based on applicant´s requirements
  • Plan, arrange and conduct meetings/teleconferences as necessary to avoid delays in system releases


Project Management & Financial Crime Technology Advisory
• Drive and project manage Financial Crime and Core Compliance technology work streams including but not limited to those arising from the following areas:

  • Transaction Monitoring
  • KYC
  • Customer/PEP Screening
  • Trade Finance
  • Case Management


• Specific tasks will include (but not limited to):

  • Provide SME expertise and play and advisory role in the Financial Crime Technology space
  • Ensure Financial Crime technology incidences are properly managed, monitored and socialised with the relevant stakeholders in the business and technology side
  • Ensure that Financial Crime technology issues affecting business continuity are resolved as soon as possible aligned with pre-established SLAs
  • Create, execute and validate UAT Plans/UAT test cases for a number of Financial Crime systems
  • Work directly with potential vendors to understand product capabilities and conduct market research
  • Work collaboratively across functional and technology teams
  • Coordinate with global, regional and local stakeholders including subject matter experts, in-country and regional heads of compliance, Head Office teams sitting in Tokyo and New York, and multiple technology teams
  • Communicate accurately and efficiently with above stakeholders to collect business/user requirements, execute project surveys, build consensus on competing priorities, resolve conflicts, obtain buy-in on project timelines, UAT and Go-live dates
  • Conduct Financial Crime technology training among a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Capture, document and address both local and regional regulatory intricacies
  • Plan, arrange and conduct meetings/teleconferences as necessary as part of your BAU work (note: occasional late night/early morning calls with New York colleagues can be expected)
  • Strict adherence to project deadlines, including tracking of project statuses, identifying and logging of issues for escalation in a timely manner
  • Generate and distribute weekly/monthly project updates for reporting to the Financial Crime Heads and other senior Management as necessary
  • Assist in any other ad-hoc systems related work (including systems in the Core Compliance space)

 

Job requirements:

  • Project management experience is a must
  • Strong governance and organisational skills is a must
  • Strong understanding of Financial Crime systems is a must
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record in leading or at least playing an active/first-hand role in the implementation of Financial Crime solutions at a regional and global level
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent time management and strong discipline to stick to project timelines/milestones
  • Experience in conflict resolution, consensus building and management of competing priorities
  • Well organised and disciplined in maintaining project documentation
  • Confident and comfortable in dealing with senior management/stakeholders
  • Ability to work flexible hours from time to time due to time zone differences
  • Willingness to take ad-hoc tasks as assigned from time to timeline
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge in Core Compliance is desirable
  • Candidates with Excel macro skills and SQL (and other programming languages) are preferred
