What you'll do
As our Finance Data Scientist, you'll work closely with business stakeholders to understand their objectives, identify opportunities and develop data-driven solutions that support strategic decision-making. You'll build strong relationships across the organisation, translating business challenges into analytical approaches that deliver measurable value. We're looking for a result driven Finance Data Scientist with experience developing and deploying cashflow models that support financial portfolio management. You'll translate business questions into analytical approaches and use data-driven insights to support decision-making.
You'll also have a proven track record of building and implementing machine learning models in production environment. Alongside this, you'll have experience developing behavioural models, conducting vintage analysis and applying time series forecasting to generate actionable business insights. Experience with Tableau or similar data visualisation tools is also desirable.

What you'll do
As our Finance Data Scientist, you'll work closely with business stakeholders to understand their objectives, identify opportunities and develop data-driven solutions that support strategic decision-making. You'll build strong relationships across the organisation, translating business challenges into analytical approaches that deliver measurable value. You'll also stay at the forefront of developments in data science, exploring emerging trends, tools and techniques, and sharing insights to help drive innovation within the team and across the wider business.
Your work will focus on:
- Developing, validating and maintaining robust cashflow forecasting models to support financial planning and risk management
- Building and deploying behavioural machine learning models to predict customer outcomes, including prepayment and attrition behaviour
- Conducting time series and vintage analysis across loan and mortgage portfolios to identify trends, performance patterns and early warning indicators
- Designing and optimising data pipelines using Python, PySpark and SQL, enabling efficient management of large volumes of structured and unstructured financial data
- Managing version control and collaborating effectively through Git, supporting high-quality and scalable model development
- Creating insightful dashboards and visualisations using Tableau and QuickSight to communicate findings clearly and support strategic decision-making
- Selecting, building, training and testing advanced machine learning models, so model risk, governance, validation and ethical considerations are embedded throughout the model lifecycle
The skills you'll need

We'll expect you to have:
- A degree in a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong experience applying statistical techniques, including linear and multivariate models, stochastic modelling and sampling methods, to solve business problems
- Experience working with large financial datasets, including mortgages and loans portfolios
- Good communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with the leadership skills to guide others while continuing to develop your own expertise
