The base in London

You'll be based at our headquarters in the City of London working with customers the business and technology to delivery leading customer experience based on understanding customer needs and wants and business goals. We need inquisitive individuals who are eager to ask questions and get involved with the team.

The teams

Corporate IT

Schroders Corporate IT support our Global Legal, Compliance, HR, Finance, Risk, Facilities business customers and suppliers with all aspects of the change lifecycle, from new software evaluation through to full software solution implementation. Collectively as a team we play numerous roles, as an Apprentice Agile Business Analyst you will principally be involved in the analysis and design aspects of the software development lifecycle, however you will also contribute to the technical design, and at times provide additional development as well as testing capacity.

The Customer Experience Design team

Schroders Experience Design are an internal design team focused on understanding and meeting the needs, wants and aspirations of both Schroders customers and the business. We deliver strategic design and digital projects through close collaboration with customer and the business creating measureable commercial value.

IT Service Desk team

The Service Desk team heads up the front lines of the IT Service teams. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service and quick responses to our users. We support our international offices by developing, rolling out and maintaining our systems and processes, using cutting-edge software and hardware. You will get hands-on experience with the different technologies we use, find out how an IT service desk runs in a business like Schroders.

What you'll do

As a Schroders apprentice, you will spend 20% of your time working towards achieving an accredited professional qualification; the rest of your time will be spent working with your team and gaining the skills you need to build your expertise.

The role(s)

Corporate IT

You will be part of our Corporate IT team working with our various business customers introducing and managing change. You will be an integral member of the team and given a variety of opportunities and experiences whilst always being supported, encouraged and mentored by your colleagues. You will get hands on experience working with customers as well as working towards your Business Analyst qualification. Some of the tasks you'll be involved in are:

• Working with the team to ensure that the business requirements to be delivered are suitably well defined and structured

• Contributing to the analysis, development and build of working software

• Verifying delivered software is working according to the agreed business requirements

• Working collaboratively with colleagues from other teams that we have a dependency on to provide solutions

• Provide assistance with on-boarding 3rd party business solutions

• Participate enthusiastically and effectively in the day to day activities of the team

• Developing strong communication, critical thinking and creative problem solving skills

• Gaining an understanding of the change process, costs as well as risks

Customer Experience Design

You will be part of our Customer Experience Design team who work with customers and the business using research, data insights and digital technology to design, develop and delivery industry leading products and services. You will get hands-on experience designing new digital products and services by researching them with customers as well as working towards your Business Analyst qualification that provides an end-to-end IT framework for the delivery and operation of digitally enabled products and services. Some of the tasks you'll be involved in are:

• Working on the design of Websites, Mobile Apps, Chat bots and other digital services

• Learning how to undertake research with customer into digital products and services

• Undertaking supervised customer research to understand the motivations and behaviours of our, customers, clients and employees in order to improve our products and services

• Learning how to apply the latest research and analytics techniques to provide actionable insight for the business, design and delivery teams

• Collaborating with customers and the business in researching and designing new products and services

• Developing strong communication, critical thinking and creative problem solving skills

• Working in multi disciplinary teams to create measurable better service experience for customer and the business

IT Service Desk

You'll be part of our IT Service Desk on front lines of the IT Service teams. Our goal is to provide excellent customer service and quick responses to our users. So we're looking for someone who gets a real buzz out of technology, has a mind for problem solving and a flair for providing excellent customer service. You will get hands-on experience with the different technologies we use, find out how an IT service desk runs in a business like Schroders as well as working towards your ITIL V4 qualification. Some of the tasks you'll be involved in are:

• Gaining hands-on experience with monitoring our IT network infrastructure using different tools and technologies and understanding how an IT service desk operates in a business like Schroders

• Working with a variety of people from across IT Services including Network, Security, Storage, Servers, and Applications on end to end projects

• Take responsibility for your very own Business Project on an area you're passionate about and personalised to your career goals

• Providing excellent customer service to users and clients

• Learning from highly experienced members of staff, and gaining the experience and knowledge required to become a great service desk technician

• You will learn how to resolve any incident that is raised by a user

• Hands-on experience with Request management, which can range from deploying an application to a users machine to creating a shared mailbox

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

• You'll have at least 96 UCAS points and be 18 years old by Monday 7 September 2020 to apply for the 2020 intake

The knowledge, experience and qualifications that will help

• A Technology/ IT qualification at GCSE or equivalent

• An understanding of the latest news and changes in Technology

• Any experience in providing excellent customer service in any industry (Service Desk role)

• A Design or Digital media qualification at GCSE or equivalent (Customer Experience Design)
