The Team: This role sits in the S&P Global Platts Product organization and reports into the Senior Director, Agricultural Solutions. The role works closely with customers to understand requirements and ensures delivery of products that meet Customer needs and aligns with business strategy.

Responsibilities:

The Agriculture Solutions Associate Director's main responsibility will be to plan and execute on the product strategy and agricultural expansion plan. Ultimately driving revenue by meeting the needs of current customers, displacing competitors, penetrating new markets, solving new problems, or selling to new client bases. In addition, this role will work closely with the Senior Director Agriculture Solutions and Content Leadership to identify additional strategic expansion opportunities and build them into the roadmap.

  • Support the expansion of agriculture at Platts by assessing and sizing opportunities to expand our agriculture business, partnering closely with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Customers in the Agricultural markets to develop a deep understanding of their needs, workflows and problems.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Product organization,Commercial, Marketing, Content, Technology, Finance and other internal stakeholders within the
    S&P Global business in a highly matrixed environment
  • Understand Agriculture market needs and within the technology framework, create value add solutions into the Agricultural Service.
  • Defining requirements that pinpoint business challenges and identify the technical and business changes required to address them
  • Writing effective user stories and acting as Product Owner when required to provide vision and direction to Agile development teams
  • Create, maintain and prioritize a product backlog according to business value or ROI
  • Transition the existing product portfolio for your commodity from legacy delivery mechanisms into our single technology platform
  • Continuing to maintain the quality and accuracy of existing legacy products during the transition
  • Develop and execute on go-to-market plans for product rollout/launches
  • Analyze customers' product usage and connecting implications to the product roadmap
  • Monitor and influence the regional financial targets and goals for newly launched Products in collaboration with the Commercial organization.
  • Work closely with sales to identify opportunities and agree on sales plans
Basic Qualifications:
  • Strong customer mindset with demonstrated ability to engage directly and honestlywith customers on all issues and deliver positive experience to customer at all times
  • Experience influencing without authority
  • Proven track record of creating Product roadmaps and executing against these roadmaps
  • Strong presentation skills
  • A track record of continuous improvement and an excellent understanding of how to successfully implement change
  • Proven years experience in Product Management with commodity industry experience
  • Proven track record as a Product Manager or Product Owner at an information business or a related business
  • Agile Scrum experience preferred
  • Strong, relevant, current knowledge of Agriculture preferred; including markets, supply chain, workflows and knowledge of commodity information products
  • Preferred experience working in relevant environments, i.e. Commodity Trading, Analysis, Production, Consumption, Analytical tool development
  • Knowledge of front office trade analysis/trade support/risk management capacity in global commodity trading organization; experience at a commodities front office decision support/market data/analytics vendor preferred
