Job Description:

Global clearing operations is undergoing a massive change both internally within the organization: due to business growth, and heavy technology investment, and externally: due to newer technology solutions and improved industry collaboration creating utility platform based service models.
There is a need to tie all this together into a clear and coherent strategy, aimed to improve client service by, enhancing our operations capability and scalability.

The roles & responsibilities of the Treasury Operations Associate are as follows:

  • Drawing out a map of the current operations structure in Global clearing operations (GCO) with different layers showcasing: Org Structure, sequential process flow, technology infrastructure, STP rate, etc
  • Connecting the dots: understanding how each process is aligned to the other with clarity of interdependence and sequencing
  • Understanding the DNA of our operations and identifying the levers that can help tweak the DNA to improve our operations
  • Bringing together all the tactical initiatives within GCO and establishing a sound governance around it
  • Understanding the current market structure around clearing services and spot the top solutions in each area
  • Analysing pros and cons of each solution and its suitability/feasibility to our operations
  • Ability to draw patterns using a lot of data and create simple metrics that explains the key performance and quality for the processes in scope
  • Identifying key stakeholders and decision makers in each area and implementing a strong governance model with them


Essential Skills:
  • Strategic Business Analyst should possess the following skills:
  • Strategic mindset: Ability to look at things in a larger perspective, understanding the direction business and markets are headed into and correlate that with the smallest of the processed being performed in the operations.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to look at large amount of data and processes and draw out trends, patterns and behaviours
  • Communication skills: Should have excellent written and oral communication skills. The ability to communicate complicated messages in simplest of words
  • Stakeholder management: Ability to maintain a fruitful relationship with multiple stakeholders at all levels from the most senior to the most junior member
  • Influencing skills: Ability to drive the decision making of the key stakeholders to meet the strategic objectives
  • Independence: Ability to work independently with a clear set of objectives and a very low need for supervision
  • Project management: bringing a bit a project management experience will be preferential though not necessary. This will help streamline the delivery of the strategy
  • Details oriented: ability to get down to the detail where necessary
  • Must be highly numerate with good keyboard and core system (Outlook, Excel, Word) skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workflow and work to strict deadlines agreed in legal documentation.
  • Strong Risk and Control Awareness - with the ability to push back on stakeholders when risk/controls could be compromised.
  • Working closely with global team, Operations teams are based in London, Delaware, Singapore, Chicago and Mumbai
  • Self motivated and flexible approach to working hours
  • Participate in the implementation of strategic and ongoing STP initiatives
  • An ability to identify process & procedural inefficiencies to improve capacity, efficiency and control.
  • Knowledge of clearing operations is desired but not essential
