Cyber Services Advisor
Job Description
The Role
Canopius is seeking a motivated, analytical and curious candidate with strong communication skills, relevant exposure to cybersecurity or a related analytical field, and confidence in presenting technical or complex topics clearly. The role will help us to develop our Threat Intelligence and Proactive Services capabilities within our Cyber Insights & Analytics function, part of the Cyber Underwriting division, supporting cyber underwriting operations across our London, U.S. and global offices.
This role could suit an early-career professional who has already gained practical entry-level experience in cybersecurity, consulting, technology consulting, data analytics, cyber risk or another related analytical field. This may include previous roles in consulting or cybersecurity, but does not need to be limited to cyber consulting specifically. We are looking for someone with enough hands-on professional exposure to communicate confidently, structure analysis and contribute to client-facing work, while still continuing to develop their technical and sector knowledge. You will receive training, coaching and exposure across cyber insurance, threat intelligence and proactive services, with the opportunity to develop into a confident client-facing cyber risk professional.
Canopius' Cyber team and business has developed rapidly, and with projected growth of 35% this year, we remain a key class of business at Canopius. We insure tens of thousands of companies worldwide across many industries and sizes, from micro enterprises to large multinationals, and we are one of the few Lloyd's syndicates awarded with 'Advanced' status in writing cyber insurance by Lloyd's. Our growth, success and recognition are testament to our investment in market-leading capabilities, such as the Cyber Insights & Analytics function.
Our Cyber Insights & Analytics function is at the cutting edge of cyber risk management, leveraging diverse data sources to create models and insights that inform decision-making throughout the insurance lifecycle. This includes supporting policy issuance, underwriting decisions, claims management and proactive cyber risk management services. Within this team, the Threat Intelligence and Proactive Services capabilities play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable insights, equipping underwriters with relevant threat context and helping clients better understand and manage their digital risk.
In this role, you'll gain exposure to insurance, cybersecurity and consulting, while continuing to build your communication, presentation and stakeholder engagement skills. You will not be expected to be a fully formed subject matter expert from day one; however, the role does require prior practical experience in a relevant entry-level position, where you have worked with technical, analytical or cyber-related topics in a professional setting. You will work with guidance from experienced colleagues and receive ongoing training in cybersecurity concepts, cyber insurance and Canopius' proactive services.
This client-facing role is ideal for someone who has experience communicating technical or analytical subjects, is interested in cybersecurity, and is motivated by the opportunity to develop into a trusted advisor over time. You will work closely with the Head of Cyber Insights & Analytics, our Cyber Services Manager and cyber underwriters to support the delivery of proactive cybersecurity services, engage with internal and external stakeholders, and help insureds and stakeholders navigate the evolving cyber threat landscape.
Canopius has set an ambitious financial plan, driven by refreshed product strategies, improved efficiencies and collaboration across diverse expertise. This role offers the opportunity to work internally and externally, build cyber and insurance knowledge, and contribute to create innovative solutions that enhance Canopius' cyber insurance offering and support the company's overall growth ambitions.
