We have been retained by an award-winning investment bank operating across the following main business areas in Europe from its London headquarters namely Equity, Fixed Income, Equity & Debt Capital Markets and Global Convertible Bonds.

We have been retained by an award-winning investment bank operating across the following main business areas in Europe from its London headquarters namely Equity, Fixed Income, Equity & Debt Capital Markets and Global Convertible Bonds.

Working closely with the CIO and the senior management team, the Deputy CIO will have responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Division ensuring Corporate IT governance and controls meet the best standards of the industry.

They will also frequently provide reporting to the firm's Senior Committees including the Technology Steering, the Executive Committee, Operational Risk Committee, and ultimately to the Board.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing a team of approximately 100 FTE across Infrastructure, Applications and Information Security.
  • Collaborate with the business leaders in the regions and develop the IT strategy that enables business growth.
  • Ensuring appropriate governance and frameworks are in place for the Technology Division.
  • Assuring that technology infrastructure, applications, security and the related processes are fit for purpose.
  • Delivering efficient and cost-effective infrastructure and IT security solutions across the firm.
  • Ensuring adequate resiliency of infrastructure and security systems.
  • Responsibility and oversight for cybersecurity to the firm, including in conjunction with the Information Security team developing and Implementing Cybersecurity systems and controls to protect the firm.
  • Contributing to the creation and maintenance of the technology framework.
  • Delegated responsibility for deciding when to trigger the Disaster Recovery Group in the case of significant technology incident


Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Proven leadership and management skills - able to demonstrate previous experience developing, inspiring and motivating teams, as well as dealing with standard people management processes and issues.
  • Significant experience of Capital Markets
  • Understanding the external environment and have a deep understanding of technology in Financial Services and Markets
  • Developing technology when there are new product launches in line with market needs and industry trends.
