A Senior IT Manager with a proven track record of delivery and stakeholder management within the front office derivatives area and will face off to the QIS and Structured Rates businesses at Nomura.
The role is for a senior IT Manager with a proven track record of delivery and stakeholder management within the front office derivatives area and will face off to the QIS and Structured Rates businesses at Nomura. The QIS business offers clients the ability to participate in rules-based styles of investment and is a big growth area that requires a new platform to capture new and existing strategies / indexes that are currently running on EUCs. The right technical solution will be critical to the success of this business. The Structured Rates business requires next generation extensions to their platform to support their fast growing and diverse business covering Exotic Market Making, Hybrids, Variable Annuities and QIS with a focus on flexibility, adaptability and speed of implementation.
This is a hands-on role and the suitable candidate will have experience of the full software development life-cycle including agile methodologies, DevOps practices and other aspects of successful product delivery. As well as an exceptional technical background, the successful candidate will have proven derivatives product knowledge across exotic / structured / quantitative investment strategies / algorithmic indices, with the necessary communications skills to discuss requirements and design approaches in detail with Traders and Quants. The candidate will have a strong and robust project management background able to manage the project's complex scope and dependencies with the drive and focus to deliver. It is also vital that the candidate can motivate and lead the 25-30 strong team split between London and Mumbai by creating a challenging and rewarding work environment which is focused around delivering high quality innovative solutions.
The candidate is expected to be able to comfortably juggle between strategic build and tactical / BAU solutions in the most optimum and productive way. The role will require dealing with L3 support issues outside of core business hours too.
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required
- Education background in a numerate discipline
- Comprehensive product delivery experience gained in front-office environment
- Algorithmic indices and/or cross-asset derivatives / structured products
- Effective stakeholder management
- Team management, hiring the right talent, mentoring and retention
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- DevOps and associated agile methodologies
Desirable technical skills:
- Java and/or Python
- Exposure to VBA, C++/C#
- MSSQL (or similar RDBMS)
