Project Manager - DC Pensions Experience. An established Investment Manager is looking for a Project Manager to cover some maternity leave.

Project Manager - A prestigious Asset Manager is looking for a Project Manager within its Pensions and Workforce Investing group.

The Workplace Investing Proposition team is responsible for the development of the overall service and product proposition for corporate benefit clients and their employees/members.

Purpose of your Role

  • Contribute to the strategic development of the Workplace Investing business to ensure continued business growth and profitability.
  • Provide input into the definition, development and maintenance of the firm's Defined Contribution Investment Product and Proposition.

This will involve working with key stakeholders to help establish the strategic direction for the proposition based on detailed client, market and competitor insights and acting as the customer voice into service design and digital innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote platform investment proposition:
    • Promotion of investment elements of the platform proposition for internal and external users - first call for information
    • Support sales and marketing efforts through providing input to RFPs and other sales materials
    • Working with internal and external suppliers to ensure successful delivery of the investment proposition
  • Support platform investment proposition strategy:
    • Identifying key competitors, their market positioning and proposition
    • Identify options for platform investment proposition positioning including product definition, target market and key features
    • Work with the fund partner management team in assessing new fund partner opportunities
    • Keeping abreast of EU and UK pensions regulations relating to investment funds
    • Establish an internal network to get input to strategic objectives and identify potential proposition developments or enhancements and new products
  • Provide investment product and proposition management support to projects:
    • Create and maintain cost-benefit analysis and benefit realisation strategy
    • Monitor and manage project priorities for the investment product line
    • Sponsor a portfolio of smaller projects (provide day-to-day sponsorship) and provide support to the Head of Workplace Investing Propositions in maintaining the overall project portfolio
    • Provide input to detailed requirements for platform investment proposition development
    • Liaise with 3rd party providers on the design and development of their offerings
    • Measure profitability of proposition against targets
    • Manage compliance of investment proposition
  • Align platform investment proposition with customer need:
    • Review customer feedback
    • Provide input to fund partner/proposition oversight meetings
  • Roll-out platform investment proposition developments:
    • Implement roll-out strategy including internal and external marketing plans
    • Maintain and update product specifications
    • Monitor benefit realisation

Experience and Qualifications Required

You will have gained extensive experience of proposition development and product management in pensions. You will have an understanding of investment principles, customer needs and the corporate benefit and adviser markets across UK and Europe. You should be confident and self-starting with the ability to prioritise effectively. Investment related qualifications are desirable (Ie, IMC, CFA).

Key Skills

  • At least 10 years' experience within the following areas; proposition, investment consulting or fund management.
  • A detailed understanding of one or more of the following; investment products, fund structures, pooling vehicles
  • Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the medium to long term savings market in terms of customer needs, distribution and providers
  • An understanding of the commercial drivers for pensions business
  • Outstanding influencing skills and comfortable operating at the most senior level in the organisation.
