The role involves intense initial training in order to develop into day to day sales account management of specific intermediaries within a specified geographical territory in order to develop and maximise new business from these IFA clients, to meet pre-set Investec Structured Product targets in line with the long term development of the business franchise.

Customer and Relationship Management

  • To manage the relationship of a set number of intermediary accounts within a specified territory to achieve agreed volume and quality targets
  • To promote Investec’s products and services to existing brokers in order to win new / incremental business in support of broker volume targets
  • To maximise business retention from time to time in line with agreed business strategy and to ensure franchise sustainability
  • To ensure core account development works in line with individual and wider team responsibilities
  • To promote investment, deposit and other financial products / services that Investec may choose to distribute
  • Where required, deliver required service to any key firm in the absence of account relationship manager
  • Understand the business as a channel and what we are trying to achieve each particular financial year ( profitability / funding requirements as directed by senior management)

Change Management

  • To formulate and deliver a sales plan which details how the investment completions target will be achieved, to organise and support activities effectively and efficiently (to time, quality and budget)
  • Manage the sales plan as a living document ensuring that service levels react to firm and market requirements
  • Ensure that our business is ahead of key industry developments and be able to deliver the required service propositions to remaining market leading

Process Management

  • To organise, record and prioritise calling activity to ensure achievement of the sales plan using appropriate CRM systems
  • Ability to build and deliver pipeline on a weekly basis, along with full competitor feedback
  • Mixture of telephone call and face to face meetings, split approximately 70/30 timewise
  • To monitor performance against targets and take appropriate actions to deal with any shortfalls
  • To generate market intelligence and competitor product strategic information, in order to assist the Marketing and Sales departments in their strategic and tactical decision-making

Risk & Compliance Management

  • To act with integrity at all times. To ensure we embrace the philosophy of TCF by bringing TCF examples to the front of our minds whilst assisting in the development of new products from inception and through the life cycle of the product, including client service
  • To comply with the code of business ethics and ensure your responsibilities regarding Treating Customers Fairly, the Prevention of Financial Crime (including money laundering, identification and reporting of fraud) are carried our effectively and in accordance with the Company’s internal policies
  • To act within delegated authority limits as agreed with Line Manager and take responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of internal controls for Sales related processes

About You

  • Regulatory Knowledge as applicable to role (if trainee, will be delivered by direct management and compliance)
  • Demonstrable relationship Management: Ability to create and maintain strong relationships with key interfaces. Ability to communicate effectively with IFAs regularly
  • Motivated self-starter with good time management skills
  • You are ambitious and have a sense of pride in all that you do
  • Ability to listen to direct line manager and follow instructions
  • You have an eagerness to learn new concepts and your knowledge of our products
  • Competent computer skills
