Position Description

You will be part of the Americas Business Development Team working within the coverage area of the Global Client Group (GCG). The Business Development team supports new business and client service efforts of the Americas distribution team for our institutional and retail businesses. The team completes requests for proposals (RFPs), due diligence questionnaires (DDQs) and requests for information (RFIs). The team works closely with sales, client service, product specialists, compliance, legal and operations to respond to the questionnaires. We are looking to enhance our team and need someone who is analytical and creative, who will be able to manage DWS's responses to various requests. This is a critical function to the success of the Americas RFP team.

Proposal manager responsibilities:

  • Manage the proposal project, working closely with the relationship manager who 'owns' the opportunity
  • Produce & manage the proposal project plan, ensuring that all necessary activities are completed on time
  • Facilitate Pre-Proposal Planning meetings, with the sales team, to ensure the appropriate steps are taken to maximize the proposal's chances of success

  • Facilitate the proposal strategy meeting, with the sales team and other key proposal contributors, to establish a clear strategy (based on client & competitive analysis)
  • Coach and chase content contributors as required - managing content quality reviews
  • Review and critique content as it is produced by the contributors and content managers. Ensure that the overall document tells a consistent and clear story
  • Ensure that all relevant processes are followed as required (e.g. qualification, compliance approvals), and lead or facilitate those meetings as required
  • Ensure the proposal is delivered on time, arranging and managing courier services or uploads as required
  • Lead proposal post-mortems (providing objective facilitation, and developing clear action plans)
  • Once a proposal has been submitted, identify new content that may be re-usable via the team's pre-written content library
  • Suggest, lead and contribute to projects to improve the organization's proposal management capabilities

Education/Qualification Requirements:

  • Comprehensive experience; preferably including RFP writing and project management
  • BA/BS degree in related field
