Global Resource Strategy & Planning, Vice President
State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) is a global asset manager. The SSGA Technology and Transformation Business Management team, who supports the technology needs of SSGA, is looking for a manager to join their global team. This manager would evolve our current resource strategy with a global workforce management and sourcing process ensuring scalability and an efficient operating model. The scope of work will help us achieve our SSGA technology objectives.

What you bring:
  • Craft a strategy with our leadership that will optimally manage the deployment of resources and external service providers to improve the quality and speed of services provided by the organization to help drive SSGA to a more efficient balance of resources - putting the right talent / skills, in the right place at the right time, for the right cost.
  • Establish and implement a resource strategy working with local SSGA management, demand team and supporting business units (Procurement, ITG Governance, Finance Legal, HR) while providing oversight and governance for the methodical and unbiased assessment of current landscape of workforce spread, recommending strategic global resource approach, revising vendor contracts, selection and usage.
  • Collaboratively work with the leadership and managements teams to ensure project scope alignment to our resource strategy, simplification efforts and budget planning.
  • Active publication and distribution of metrics and reports on resource distribution and strategy demonstrating benefits, such as:
    • Supplier savings (Global Hubs vs. vendor, labor arbitrage (high cost to low cost), vendor consolidation)
    • Scale savings (e.g., vendor contract negotiation with procurement)
    • Efficiency savings (e.g., process improvement, automation)
    • Quality: Enhanced quality of resources aligned to projects and higher quality outputs (increased customer happiness, time to market)
    • Enhanced vendor/resource performance measurement capabilities/analytics

  • 7+ years of experience in the financial industry and can demonstrate a proven record of delivery, analytical and communication skills while maintaining confidentiality!
  • Dedicated and experienced team member with proven and relevant industry knowledge in technology demand, strategic sourcing and scalable resource operating models.
  • Hands-on and deliver the management function with excellent time management, organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, while employing diplomacy with high-level leaders and customers.
  • Possess an ability to seamlessly and effectively adapt to changing priorities and challenges.
  • Proven responsible and accountable leader with collaborative skills; ability to effectively work with a broad variety of people, personalities, and levels.
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent.
