We are seeking a PrincipalInfrastructure Operations Analyst - MQ Messaging
as we are implementing afirst class messaging service which will include user enabled self serviceautomation as well as comprehensive metrics and analytics for a more efficientand proactive "run the plant" function. Additionally, we desire to build out amessaging ecosystem that will uplift the capabilities within our data centers bothlowering the total cost of ownership as well as increasing the capability.
We are implementing a "cloud ready" messagingplatform that can coexist can coexist harmoniously with various BNY Mellondatacenters while providing integration points with existing BNY Mellonmessaging solutions. Key Responsibilities:
•Engineering and Support/Administration of enterprisewide MQ messaging infrastructure on both distributed & Mainframe platforms.
•Work with application development teamsproviding support of middleware components.
•Define and maintain middleware standards andgovernance including MQ and API administration and utilization.
•Utilize industry standard technologies &methods to insure the integrity & recoverability of MQ based applicationsincl. but not limited to: backup & recovery, clustering, security, patchmanagement, enterprise monitoring & performance tuning.
•Perform strategic analysis and design of MQinfrastructure and makes recommendations on improvements and/or new systemsrequired to meet business needs and future capacity.
•Prepare and maintain professionaldocumentation required to run and maintain the environment.
•Automation of processes and development oftools to support the engineering and operation functions.
•Participate in regular on call rotation,providing 24x7 support meeting business SLA's
•Subject Matter Expert for Enterprisemessaging products.
•Contributor to the enterprise messagingstrategy.
•Partner with the business, productionservices and application development teams to implement messaging solutions.
Principal Infrastructure Operations Analyst->> Designs, implements, integrates, and provides full support for complex software in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment. Advises specialists on areas to focus installation and support efforts. Works with the Senior Principal to ensure operations are consistent with LOB and organization wide goals. Identifies and solves highly complex and critical systems related issues to meet the objectives for the corporation. Participates in software strategic planning and consulting on platform selection, version implementation, software product recommendation, and usage of enhanced functionality. Tracks installations, modifications, and support efforts to ensure goals are being met. Implements, integrates and provides support for middleware software in a multi-tiered, multi-platform environment, dealing with development projects that have a broad impact across the organization. Provides consulting expertise in identifying and solving highly-critical middleware issues and serves as a resource on middleware issues related to policies and standards that impact middleware specialist and application support staffs across the corporation. Communicates with internal and external system users to address concerns and make sure that technical issues are dealt with appropriately. Manages ticket queues and handles highly complex escalated issues. Analyzes repeat incident patterns to identify opportunities for cost reduction and productivity enhancements. Manages relationships with vendors and works with them to ensure efficient incident resolution. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives. Responsible for budget activity. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience is required, advanced degree is preferred.
- Ten to twelve (10-12) years of related infrastructure experience is required.
- Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
•Engineering/Administering/Support ofIBM MQSeries on distributed and/or Mainframe platforms.
•JMS Based messaging Implementations.
•Operations and /or Engineering oflarge scale Banking Messaging eco-systems.
Preferred: •Java (or similar language) •Python (or similar)
•Software provisioning and/orconfiguration management tools (experience with Ansible particularly desirable)
