The successful candidate will work with vendors, service providers, and other tax professionals in carrying out his or her responsibilities. He or she will work with the VP Tax, accounting department, and third-party service providers.

Job Summary:

The Transaction Tax Manager is responsible for the Firms compliance and tax planning for transaction taxes. The successful candidate will work with vendors, service providers, and other tax professionals in carrying out his or her responsibilities. He or she will work with the VP Tax, accounting department, and third-party service providers.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage outsource process for completion of sales & use tax filings, unclaimed property, property and VAT/GST tax returns including all related analysis and support
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation of taxes payable accounts
  • Assist accounting and outside CPAs on statutory audits of international subsidiaries
  • Monitor exemption certificates received and issued
  • Review tax paid on purchases and sales monthly
  • Manage audits of state transaction tax and VAT/GST filings
  • Responsible for coordination of Pinpoint sales & use tax software implementation and maintenance
  • Other duties as assigned / designated

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Accounting. Masters Degree in Business Taxation preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Five plus years of related experience; public accounting firm background a plus
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Must have a demonstrated hands-on approach and success in working in a team-based environment.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully an individual should have intermediate skills in Microsoft® Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access, and internet navigation/research. Workday software experience preferred, but not necessary.

Certificates and Licenses:

Certified Public Accountant preferred

Work Environment:

  • Standard indoor working environment
  • Long periods of sitting while working at computer
  • Occasional long periods of standing
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull up to 30 lbs
  • Position requires regular interaction with employees at all levels of the Firm; interface with external vendors also necessary
  • Independent travel requirement: Less than 25%
