Job Description

This opportunity is ideal for a highly motivated self-starter who is comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organisational skills to efficiently manage multiple projects. As this role involves close collaboration with Investment Management teams, adaptability, strong technical acumen, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships are essential.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

Commercial

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of assigned funds, their portfolios, legal and tax structures, and investor requirements.

  • Foster productive working relationships with investment managers, investment operations, company secretariat, and other internal and external teams. Ensure Finance maintains a pivotal role in achieving seamless fund management.

  • Collaborate with Investment Teams to facilitate effective reporting and ensure the visibility of pertinent data.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of various fund structures and actively monitor changes to tax laws and industry regulations.

  • Provide support in launching new funds and winding down existing funds as required.

  • Lead strategy on fund wind-downs, articulating recommendations clearly to enable timely decision-making.

Reporting

  • Ensure accurate maintenance of books and records for allocated funds, with financial records updated and reconciled monthly or quarterly in accordance with group processes and controls. Liaise with administrators and perform necessary reviews of their work.

  • Oversee administrator relationships, set timelines, and ensure deliverables meet high-quality standards.

  • Conduct analytical reviews of financial results on a monthly or quarterly basis to identify any portfolio issues and escalate them to the Head of Finance when necessary.

  • Manage the end-to-end regulatory reporting process for assigned funds, guaranteeing the timely submission of high-quality statutory reports, including annual and interim accounts, HMRC reports, and US tax filings.

Other

  • Manage relationships with administrators and third parties, ensuring clear expectations on timelines and deliverables, and uphold rigorous quality standards.

  • Collaborate closely with Investment, Operations, Distribution, Company Secretariat, and Compliance teams to provide integrated, best-in-class service.

  • Act as the principal contact for both internal and external stakeholders, cultivating and sustaining robust professional relationships.

  • Critically evaluate current processes and implement improvements within the finance function and across other business units as needed.

  • Support a range of ad hoc projects as required.

Qualifications

Ideally, you'll have:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or overseas equivalent)

• Post qualification experience in financial services and/or real estate

• Exposure to and good working knowledge of LP/GP fund structures

• Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and delivering to deadlines

We encourage you to apply even if you don't tick every box. What's the worst that can happen?
