REAL ESTATE FINANCE PORTFOLIO MANAGER

We’re working with a leading financial institution on an excellent opportunity for an experienced Real Estate Finance Portfolio Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a diverse portfolio of real estate finance facilities.
The portfolio covers a broad range of asset classes including residential, PBSA, retail, hotels and offices , with exposure to both performing and non-performing facilities, including work-outs and restructurings.
The role will include:
- Managing a portfolio of Real Estate Finance facilities from a portfolio management perspective
- Managing relationships with borrowers and key external stakeholders
- Processing rollovers, drawdowns and payments
- Preparing credit applications, annual reviews and credit reports
- Monitoring facility covenants and overall credit exposure
- Managing renewals, restructurings, defaults and work-out situations
- Ensuring facilities remain fully KYC compliant
- Working closely with Front Office, Credit Risk, Operations, Finance, Legal and Compliance
- Managing relationships with asset managers, lawyers, monitoring surveyors and valuers
- Coordinating middle-office activity supporting the wider Real Estate Finance business
- Producing MI and portfolio analysis, including concentration risk, pricing, returns and exposures
- Managing arrears and supporting the timely resolution of problem facilities
- Contributing to a strong risk management and first-line-of-defence culture
- Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team
We’re looking for someone with:
- 5+ years’ experience in Real Estate Finance, ideally within an investment, commercial or challenger bank
- Strong understanding of Real Estate Finance transactions and credit
- Excellent credit analysis and credit report writing skills
- Experience managing borrower relationships and complex negotiations
- Exposure to performing and/or non-performing real estate facilities
- Strong understanding of covenant monitoring, restructurings, defaults and portfolio management
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple transactions and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A degree in Real Estate, STEM or a related discipline would be advantageous
