Introduction
Our client are a large Defence and critical national infrastructure consultancy looking for a Senior Cyber Security Consultant with a strong background in Defence or CNI/OT environments to join their growing security consultancy team.
You'll need hands-on experience delivering technical cyber security work across complex, regulated environments. They have positions available across GRC, Security Architecture, Threat and Vulnerability, and OT teams.
Working Patterns and location - Hybrid - 2 days on site per week in Bristol or London
Key responsibilities
• Lead and deliver risk assessments, security governance, and tailored security controls for clients.
• Provide expert cyber security advice across Aerospace, Defence, and CNI/OT environments.
• Develop, review, and maintain security policies, procedures, and compliance artefacts.
• Manage multiple client projects concurrently, balancing priorities and meeting tight deadlines.
• Mentor and support junior consultants, sharing knowledge and driving continuous improvement.
• Communicate cyber security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development activities including proposals and client engagement.
• Apply innovative thinking to solve complex, non-routine security challenges across people, process, and technology.
Skills & experience
• Proven experience delivering technical cyber security consultancy in multi-disciplined environments.
• Strong background in information assurance, including ISMS development and risk assessments.
• Experience in UK Defence, including knowledge of JSP440, JSP604, JSP453, and the Security Policy Framework.
• Experience delivering security assurance and accreditation for Defence capabilities or OT/ICS environments.
• Solid understanding of Secure by Design methodology and relevant security frameworks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently within a matrix organisation.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and occasionally overseas as project needs demand.
The client would also like to see some of the below, but this is not essential:
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CISMP, or Chartered Cyber Security Professional.
• Experience with SCADA, PLC, and RTU systems and their integration with corporate IT networks.
• Familiarity with OT cyber security standards including IEC 62443, NIST CSF, NIS Regulations, or HSE OG-0086.
• OT-specific qualifications such as GICSP or IEC/ISA 62443 certification.
• Membership of a recognised security professional body such as CIISEC, IISP, BCS, or ISC2.
• Experience selecting and deploying appropriate security technology in live CNI or OT environments.
