Who We Are Looking For
  • Are you energized by leading enterprise transformation across business and technology in a complex, global organization?
  • Do you thrive on translating strategy into a practical operating model, governance structure, and execution roadmap?
  • Are you passionate about building product-centric capabilities, leadership behaviors, and accountability for measurable outcomes?
  • Are you excited by the opportunity to scale product operating models and integrate AI-enabled product delivery across Investment Management?
  • Do you seek to influence senior leaders, align cross-functional teams, and build a high-performing transformation organization?

As Managing Director, Lead for Product Transformation at State Street Investment Management ("State Street IM", formerly known as State Street Global Advisors or SSGA), you will lead the enterprise-wide adoption and evolution of product-centric operating model. This role is foundational to the broader product operating model transformation and will establish the vision, governance, decision rights, operating rhythms, measurement mechanisms, and capability-building agenda required to scale consistent and accountable product delivery.

You will serve as a strategic advisor to senior business and technology leaders and partner across product, engineering, operations, data, architecture, risk, and client-facing organizations. You will build and lead a team of transformation leaders and product coaches, with the organization expected to expand as the transformation scales.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define and lead the Product Transformation, aligned with State Street IM priorities and measurable business and client outcomes.
  • Establish and execute the roadmap for adoption and scaling of product-centric operating model across business and technology organizations.
  • Design and mature the product operating model framework, including governance, decision rights, operating rhythms, role clarity, accountability models, and cross-functional interaction mechanisms.
  • Create governance forums and transparent mechanisms for prioritization, funding, portfolio trade-offs, dependency management, and strategic alignment.
  • Define transformation objectives, maturity targets, success measures, dashboards, and feedback loops to assess adoption, effectiveness, and realized outcomes.
  • Lead large-scale organizational change and embed product-centric leadership behaviors, customer focus, continuous planning, experimentation, and outcome accountability.
  • Partner with leaders to establish persistent, cross-functional teams with clear ownership and guardrails across the product lifecycle.
  • Build enterprise capability through playbooks, standards, communities of practice, role-based learning, leadership fluency, and high-touch coaching.
  • Integrate AI-driven product delivery and modern product development lifecycle practices into the broader product operating model strategy in partnership with business, technology, architecture, and engineering leaders.
  • Identify opportunities to improve speed, quality, effectiveness, risk management, and customer outcomes through AI-enabled workflows and automation.
  • Facilitate executive working sessions and present transformation recommendations, progress, risks, decisions, and organizational implications to senior stakeholders.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing Product Transformation team, including product coaches and transformation practitioners.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience leading large-scale business transformation, operating model design, product management, strategy, business architecture, consulting, or organizational change initiatives, preferably within investment management or financial services.
  • Demonstrated success leading enterprise-wide transformation programs with executive-level visibility in complex, matrixed, and regulated organizations.
  • Strong expertise in product operating models, governance frameworks, organizational design, decision rights, portfolio management, and outcome-based measurement.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into executable roadmaps, operating mechanisms, capability-building plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Executive-level communication, facilitation, influence, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience building and leading cross-functional teams and driving sustained organizational adoption and behavioral change.
  • Experience with modern product management, continuous planning, customer discovery, product lifecycle management, and iterative delivery practices.
  • Working knowledge of AI-enabled product delivery, agentic automation, responsible AI, and the implications of AI for roles, governance, and ways of working preferred.
  • Experience within asset management, financial services, fintech, or wealth management preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, management, organizational development, technology, engineering, or a related field required.
