Job summary

U.S. Analyst Program

The U.S. Analyst Program is for recent graduates starting a career in corporate & investment banking. It offers training, mentoring and exposure across the Finance function. The position runs for a maximum of two years, with the objective of developing the Analyst into a permanent role at the end of that period or earlier, subject to performance and available headcount.

Finance Department

The Financial Steering & ALM division sits within the Finance Department and covers 3 product lines at Credit Agricole CIB Americas: Profitability & Internal Pricing (PIP), Asset/Liability Management (ALM), and CFO Solutions (CFX). This provides analysis of the Bank's business activities across solvency, liquidity, balance sheet, profitability, regulatory status, and analysis of relevant data in order to provide optimization suggestions.

CFO Solutions is the data and analysis team within the division. It collects financial/regulatory data from a range of sources across the Bank, structures it so that it can be used with confidence, analyses it to find what is useful to management, and delivers the result through reports & analytical tools. Work is done in Python, Power BI and Excel, along with AI tools approved for use.

Position Overview

  • Collect data from source systems & other teams, and structure it into a form that can be used/reused

  • Check and clean data, and resolve differences between sources

  • Analyze data to identify trends, drivers, risks etc. useful to management

  • Produce the recurring reporting that goes to management, regulators, business lines

  • Build and maintain dashboards, models and analytical tools, including business line scorecards, regulatory indicator views and balance sheet analytics

  • Work with Python, Power BI and Excel, and use the Bank's approved AI tools to work faster

Primary Responsibilities

Collecting/Structuring Data:

  • Gather financial/regulatory data from source systems and from internal teams

  • Clean, standardize, organize that data so it can be used consistently across reports and analysis

  • Reconcile figures between sources, resolve differences where possible and escalate the rest

  • Document data sources, definitions and reporting steps, so that processes do not depend on one person

Analyzing Data:

  • Examine movements in P&L, balance sheet, capital and regulatory indicators, and identify what is driving them

  • Look for trends, patterns and risks that management should know about

  • Carry out variance and scenario analysis, and contribute to forecasting work as the team develops it

  • Set out findings clearly, in writing and presentation material for senior management

Building Reports & Tools:

  • Contribute to the monthly and quarterly financial reporting cycle

  • Build/maintain Power BI dashboards covering P&L, balance sheet, capital, regulatory indicators

  • Write Python to automate data collection, checks, report production

  • Use AI tools to work faster on code, analysis, and documentation

Supplementary Information

Why This Role?

This is an entry-level position with a structured learning path. The work has three parts of roughly equal weight: getting data into usable shape, analyzing it, and building the reports and tools that deliver it. The Analyst is expected to contribute to all three rather than specialize in one. You will see and learn how a global bank measures its own profitability, capital and liquidity, and you will work with the people who use that information to make decisions.

Salary: $80,000
