BNP Paribas lost another ex-Exane MD in New York. Deutsche Bank hired him

As we have reported, people who once worked for Exane but who have worked for BNP Paribas ever since BNP fully ingested Exane in 2021, keep leaving.

The latest to do so is an ex-Exane partner in New York.

Christopher Krieg spent nearly eight years at Exane as a partner, and nearly four years at BNP Paribas as a managing director. Before this, he spent eight and a half years at Deutsche Bank. Krieg is now returning to DB.

Deutsche Bank declined to comment for this article and it's not clear what Krieg's new title will be there. We understand that he was a senior cash equity sales trader at BNP.

Deutsche Bank closed its equities trading business in 2019. However, it still runs an equity capital markets (ECM) business. Given that US ECM is booming, Deutsche presumably wants some more talent in this area.

Krieg may not be the last ex-Exane person to leave BNP Paribas. There are suggestions of disgruntlement. Earlier this week, Dina Geha, a top saleswoman, resigned.

BNP Paribas didn't respond to a request to comment.
